Time

Time spent waiting in the heat,

for the day when they would return to reality.

The day draws closer to the student's tired gaze,

they cannot tell whether to celebrate or stay stuck in a haze.

Time spent resting in bed,

Even though there was still a pile of books waiting to be read.

They wished for the day to come,

the day where their stupor would end.

Being home left them feeling lazy,

with nothing to do and no homework to baby.

Time passes though the world seems to stop,

leaving the student trying to catch up.

Days come and go, the wind blows and blows.

Each hour, the time grows more and more sour.

Soon they will have to leave,

but they now wished to stay for an eternity.

Time spent with family and friends,

barely sufficient during the end.

More time is needed in their loving embrace,

but soon comes the day where everything disappears.

Time to leave the bubble that break created,

breeding animosity towards the time spent wasted.

There were things to do and people to see,

but those hours were lost stuck in a dream.

Time spent waiting in the cold,

trapped within the same dream as before.

Dreaming, hoping, praying that time would go as fast as the wind once more,

time spent waiting to walk back through home's waiting doors.
