Here's a picture of Amanda.
Tell me if you like her. I wanted a short yet sweet girl. Like a Barbie ;)
Chapter 20
We parked my car near the café and got down. He stood there, holding the car door ajar; his concentration fixed on the other side of the road.
"What's done can't be undone" I said out loud as Carter looked back at me with a raised eyebrow.
I shrugged, "Oh, I was just quoting Shakespeare. You carry on!" I smirked as he closed the door shut and walked over to my side.
"You know" He squinted his eyes, "If you could quote him so well, you could at least help me with those assignments"
I walked inside Joe's –café, "Not before you tell me your story"
"What story?" He shrugged as if I hadn't asked him this for like hundred times this week. I ordered for the two of us.
It's been another week and though it would sound crazy, but Carter and I had started hanging out more often. Turned out, he was the only one I had left who was actually willing to put up with my shit! And not such a bad company as well.
And yeah, we had also started hanging out at Joe's café more often. I had decided to go to those places more often where chances of encountering Hunter were less.
"Come on, Carter, everyone has a story" I said as I paid for the two coffees. Joe smiled looking at my direction.
"How's Hunter?" She asked and for the tiniest of seconds my heart knotted inside.
"Good" I shrugged, smiling at her.
"You hang out with his sister?" Joe added further, probably since I answered her the first time, "You know, the little girl? She's really very sweet-"
"I know- and no, not that much" I said a bit sternly, turning around.
"Oh-okay" She retreated back when she understood I wasn't comfortable with the conversation.
We walked out of the café and I saw Carter's eyes doing a quick search across the opposite street.
"You have to have a story" I looked his way and smiled, "The way you both talked that day, there must be something"
"Shut up, Amanda" He sipped his coffee and looked totally uninterested.
"I have already finished those assignments, you know? I could help you out" I tried to bribe him.
