Assalam'u'Alaikum,
Welcome to the first and very official writing contest held by the Muslim Community.
I know right; it's quite exciting? The account that stays inactive ninety percent of the time is holding a contest! Oops, did I burn myself? I'm sorry. Either way, none of you can complain, right now; in fact, you don't have time. Go and check out the contest book that we've posted on our account and write, write, write like a mad(wo)man.
Before I sign out just like that, I believe I owe you guys an explanation for being so missing in action. I know the first and foremost explanation has to be the fact that I am quite lazy but also, kind of busy too. Both Zikra and I have been out of town these vacations (in fact, the former still is) and do you know what that means? Poor internet connection. Not that it's quite rad here too but still, better.
Anyway, so we're still kind of busy (trust me, there's so much to do, I think I'll go crazy this year) but not busy enough to not hold this contest. In fact, I've been quite enthusiastic about it for a while now and I'll take out the time (even if I don't have any) to read all your entries and grade them. Considering that they do come and that's where you guys come in.
You see, I could ramble on and on about how grateful I am and it wouldn't be phony at all. I really am grateful that you guys have been taking an active part in the official thread and have been overall supportive. And going ahead and actually writing - that's one massive favour that I have to ask of you. Even if you've never written in your entire life, try it out. We're not that popular as of now, the odds are definitely in your favour and the topic is very easy. It has a huge scope - just be a little creative and you can come up with the most wonderful entry ever. And not only that, you can submit basically anything - poetry, scripts, essays, whatever. Submit a set of haikus, if you feel like it. We'll accept anything as long as it falls under a certain criteria and you know what that means? That you guys have a book to check out.
I hope I've left you guys with enough suspense to make you open our profile and check out The Muslim Community 2k16 book (which you can also find in the external link of this chapter). Be sure to vote for it, comment something indicating that you're participating below and spread the word! We'll take as many entries as we can get.
Also, before I leave, I'll leave you with the reminder that we now have a twitter account with the username "muslimswattpad" which is a little more active than this entire account, in all honesty. Moreover, if you haven't already, check out the official Muslim community thread in the café.
