The phoenix is a sacred regenerating mythical firebird, that is known to rise from its ashes over and over again. Most legends stat that the phoenix dies by fire, and only one phoenix can be alive at a time, though some interpret it differently. The phoenix's feather colors vary, but it's tail is said to be of gold and scarlet, or also purple, green, and blue. It is typically the size of an eagle, but many myths and legends have different sizes for the phoenix. The phoenix lives for around 500-1000 years, until at the end of it's life cycle, it builds itself a cinnamon twig nest and sets itself, and the nest, ablaze. Once the nest and phoenix turn to ashes, a new, young phoenix rises from those ashes to start a new life.
Legend says that a phoenix's cry sounds like a beautiful song. Few legends stat that a phoenix can change into people, and some say that the phoenix is immortal. Phoenix's are known to feed off of frankincense and odoriferous gums.
