some day
the great fungal
network inside the
earth will be mapped
and the ancient mother
lodes protected. then
the stars can rest and let
the underground threads,
spokes to the old growth
hubs, illuminate the earth.
we earth people can start
looking down into the
beauty of connections
but for now I will only dig
tiny holes to plant a garden.
I will do nothing to break or
suffocate the living soil
