I stayed in my room here a while before walking down to watch the boys practice, when I arrived I stood next to Jane on the balcony with a few other girls.
"All right, boys. Let's line it up. Carlos, you're with me. Let's go" Jay says as the others get ready for sword fighting
"Assembler. Salute. Lower the point. Masks down. En garde. Keep your center!" Jay says and the the start fighting "Eyes on your opponent! Up and over" Jay continues to talk, when suddenly someone new jumps over to them and starts fighting with Jay
"Get him, Jay!" Carlos says "Watch out, Jay" he continues to shout at them
"Nice!" Chad says
"Jay, what happened?" Carlos asks
"Finish him" Chad says, after the guy wins he takes his helmet off but to my surprise it's Lonnie
"It's Lonnie!" Jane shouts
"Not bad" Jay says
"You should put me on the team" Lonnie says
"Hey, w-what?! No, no, no. We'll-- We'll be the laughing stock of the league. A-And what's gonna happen next? We'll have girls playing tourney? Come on, guys" Chad says
"So?" Jay asks
"So? Uh, so, have you not read the rule book? Section 2, paragraph 3, 11-4. "A team will be comprised of a captain and eight men." Hmm? Why don't you read the rule book?" Chad says
"Okay, yeah, but you're down a man! I mean, since Ben had to leave to do all that king stuff" Lonnie says trying to convince them
"Exactly. We're down a man" Chad says
"Jay..." Lonnie says
"I'm sorry. Coach trusts me. I'm not gonna stay captain if I just throw out the rule book." Jay says
"If my mother thought that way, she would have lost the war" Lonnie says walking away
"Okay. Rule book. Rule book" Chad says
"All right, guys. Practice is over. Let's go" Jay says, people start walking away but I decided to stay for a while
"Maddie! Maddie, hey. Hey" Carlos says
"Hey, Carlos, what's up?" I ask
"Uh... Not much. You?" He says
"Way too much. Jane is so obsessed with the Cotillion that I can't have a normal conversation with her and Ben even asked me to preform a song at it, so now I have to write a whole new song!" I say
"Oh, yeah, no, that's a-- that's a bummer. Um, speaking of Cotillion--" Carlos says
"I know, right? It's all anybody is talking about. Cotillion 24/7" I say, Carlos tries to say something but I interrupt him without realizing
"It's like its the most musical thing ever but it probably isn't" I say
"How do you know it isn't" Carlos asks
"Because it's too overrated"
"Maddie, maybe we should just--" Carlos says
"Skip the whole thing? I really, really wish I could. It's so nice to have a friend who's on the same wavelength" I say
"Oh, you got me" Carlos says
"I got to go, Jane's calling. Great practice, though" I say
"Yeah" Carlos say
"See ya" I say picking up the phone "hey Jane" I say walking away
"It wasn't the right time, all right?" Carlos talks to Dude
