S Y N O P S I S

Sawyer Quinn suffers from insomnia. The only thing that will get her to sleep is someone in bed beside her, who will talk with her until she falls asleep.

Jesse Arminio suffers from I-Don't-Pay-Attention-In-Class. The only thing that will keep him from flunking out is someone willing enough to tutor him.

Which is how they meet.

Sawyer would have to be truly desperate to let some random stranger crawl into bed with her. But ever since she broke up with her boyfriend, she's had no one to talk her to sleep. So when Jesse Arminio approaches her and asks her to tutor him, in exchange for anything, she proposes her idea.

Jesse would never turn down a night in some girl's bed. Well, he probably would, depending on the girl. But with Sawyer Quinn, it's different. She needs him in her bed to talk. So that she can fall asleep. Under normal circumstances, he'd definitely turn her down. But seeing that he needs to graduate high school... Well, it's an entirely different story.

But sometimes all it takes is a little harmless pillow talk to create something that seems a lot like love.

A U T H O R ' S N O T E

i wrote this when i was 13/14, when i was in the height of ignorance & youthful misunderstanding. i've educated myself a lot over the course of the past almost decade now yikes, and there is a lot in this book i do not agree with nor do i like. much of sawyer & jesse's behaviour i do not condone, however, for a long time, when i was young, this was behaviour i was taught to view as normal, and always thought to be acceptable. now, of course, i have a much better understanding & am well aware of how problematic much of the content of this book is. i write this note mostly because i will never edit nor rewrite this book in anyway shape or form, as i have no wish to put time into these characters – which, unfortunately, means that these characters will never improve/grow into valuable & acceptable leads. read on or don't; please just keep this in mind. & if you're looking for unproblematic & poc (!!!) characters, may i just plug my other works available on my page. sending love, em x

The plot consists of a mix of different clichés, including bad boys, nerds, protective fathers, agreements that lead to love, and so on. However, I hope you find the characters that I have created original and realistic. More than anything, I hope you fall in love with them just as they fall in love with each other.
