Growth in the Fandom
There have been massive events this year that have pulled a lot of new fans into the fandom (Grammy, James Corden, class of 2020, etc.).
We have doubled in numbers every comeback, so there has been a huge growth in stream numbers and in Twitter likes (average BTS tweet has about 1.5 - 2 million likes compared to couple years ago when it was just under 1 million likes) so this makes having 7 million pre-orders more possible.
