I'd like to dedicate this compilation to my sister who passed away in 2019 from cancer. She may have lost her war but she fought the battle each and every day.
She was the inspiration for this volume and for the first poem that begins it.
She was my partner-in-crime book dragon, my edible art aficionado, my kindred craftaholic, my fellow romantic and my unabashed ketchup addict - That rainbow heart bejewelled fashionista in a fiery red black polka dot dress.
Loud of voice
Quiet of presence
Vibrant of character
Touched with dashes of resilience that spoke of patience and perseverance
Crazy in ways that were just... her way
Loyal of heart; a heart that beat soft and strong in equal measure
Fun of mind; a mind open to all those in her life
Creative of soul; a caring and sincere one
Colorful of fashion-sense and then some
She was -
Larger than life and Loved by so many.
