I woke up to see the sun shining through the car window . I looked over at Yasmin to see her sleeping & so was Dad in the passenger seat
"Wasn't dad driving?" I asked mom, yawning .
She looked at me in the rear-view mirror & gave me a smile.
"Goodmorning honey . And yes, he was, but last night he got tired so I took over." She replied , placing her eyes back on the half-empty roads.
I checked my phone to see it was 3:35 AM , everyone was probably sleeping as to why there were hardly any cars on the road .
The sun was rising slowly over the lilac sky , making the scenery look like a painted picture. I have to be honest , California does look much prettier than Atlanta in the morning .
I really didn't want to be here , but California was impressing me a lot at this moment .
"Are we there yet ?" Yasmin called , opening her eyes stretching out her arms .
"No, we're almost there though . Just a couple more roads to drive down ." Mom replied.
Yasmin nodded her head & unlocked her phone, plugging in her headphones . I just looked back out the window & imagined what our house would look like. I remember mom was saying its bigger than our last house & our last house was pretty big .
I unlocked my phone & looked at my screensaver it was me , Tammy, Jasmine & Payton. We were all in Tammy's house doing the most craziest poses . I smiled & typed in my passcode .
The phone unlocked & I went onto Twitter & checked my feed . The usual posts were there .
I composed a tweet 'missing atl already. cali here I am . '
I posted the tweet & checked my instagram. 20 New followers & 6 photo likes. I took a photo of the sunset & posted it with the caption 'cali sunset this mornin' #socool'
" Take the next left and you will be at your destination " the sat-nav boomed , causing dad to wake up.
"Goodmorning Richard " Mom chimed , looking over at him & then back at the road .
"Morning honey , are we there ? " he asked, sitting upright in the car , rubbing his eyes.
"Well, yeah we are . " she answered as she pulled into our new driveway and the removal vans parked behind us , on the side of the road.
I grabbed my suitcases & opened the car door to see what the house looks like . It was beautiful .
