I am a mother of four, 3 teenagers and one preteen (they are awesome!) first and foremost, and I just love to write. I recently received my undergraduate in legal studies with a Spanish minor, and my plan is to go to law school and be an attorney. 
I began writing years ago, about strange recurring dreams, daydreams that strolled through my mind, and so on. Recently, I have found that I like to question the human mind, emotions, and behaviors and ask the question "What if?". 
Matter is that type of book. The rhetorical question I asked while writing it was "What does it mean to be human?" My next story is going to be a series where I ask "Can you tell who's the good guy, and who's the bad guy?" 
The Amulet series is going to find Lumen, a young boy in search of his destiny, finds huge twists and turns through his heritage, meets fascinating creatures, finds a best friend and his love, only to have them ripped away and releasing the darkness within his power. This will be just the first book, Ascending Light. As the story progresses, Lumen soon becomes a threat to his world and is hunted down as he can steal the life of others (and does often) and he can possess some of them to do his bidding. The final showdown between those of his world and Lumen will happen on contemporary Earth after Lumen has learned to jump worlds.
