B.D. Land

It has been 1 year since I pulled my book with the intention of revising and "officially" publishing. Needless to say, that did not happen. Stories only live when they are being shared, and I would rather have it available for free and imperfect than languishing in the dark until I find time to come back to it. So The Kept is back on Wattpad until I am really, truly able to devote the time and resources to seek publication.

Hi everyone, 
          
          It has been a while since I've updated but, with The Kept nearing 200K reads, I figured it's time to let folks know what's good. 
          
          First off, THANK YOU!  For all the reads, votes and, especially, comments. You don't know how much life it gives me to see readers responding to this story. 
          
          I've been thinking a lot about the future and what needs to happen next. It has always been my intention to revise, expand out and publish The Kept in one way or another. I think this will be the year that I revisit that plan and finally start marking up the hard copy I printed off when I first completed the novel in 2020. 
          
          This means that, at some point in the next year or so, I will pulling the full story off of Wattpad. I will keep my account active and will provide a way for you all to find the books once they are done. If I am able, I would like give my WP followers a way to access the updated books for free. I'm not sure how to work that out yet, but I will let you know if/when I have a plan.
          
          Thank you for all the years of support, feedback and many big feelings for the characters and their journey.

I just discovered some old sketches and posted them in a new section of  The Kept: Extras. It's also a space for reader feedback and Q&A. Thank you, all!

Completing The Kept has released every single idea I have ever pushed to the back of my mind "until I finish what I started". 
          
          There are at least 5 different stories flooding my brain new with scenes and characters while I'm here trying to focus on schoolwork.

Thank you for making such an exciting and genuinely amazing book!  I have re read the book so many times and each time my love for the book only grows stronger! The characters you've made are all so memorable and hold a special place in my heart. Once again,  thank you ♥ 

I did it, everyone. The Kept is finally complete. It has been 8 or 9 years in the making. I broke through my worst year  of  writer's block and was up all night to get it all out because I was scared I'd lose it again if I fell asleep. I'm dreadfully excited, and 2020 is crazy, so I published it recklessly.  Forgive any typos or serious errors. I'll save my regret for later (sometime after sleep, shower, and cry—probably not in that order.) 
          
          THANK YOU everyone who has engaged, read and followed me for the past 4 years. Your support, commentary, questions and just love for these characters and this world is what pushed me to the finish line. You are my motivation and I could never have gotten here without  you! <3
