Hi, guys! Milo and Maisie has made it to the Longlist of the Open Novella Contest! I wasn't confident after the criticism the published author gave me, but here we are! He told me we're going to work on building my confidence as a writer this summer. That's not too bad, though, for my first time entering the Open Novella Contest. :)

I have another class with the published author tomorrow, y’all! I got most of my assignments finished, but I also applied for a huge job at my college today, so I wasn’t able to finish everything. I also finished editing the first Act of Through the Wormhole. Once I finish editing what I have of Act 2 so far, I’ll continue it.

Wish me luck tomorrow with the author! I’m also working with a journalist to build my portfolio. :)

I’m not sure if I’m going to enter The Wattys this year. It really depends on the Open Novella Contest. If I do, I’d submit Through the Wormhole after fixing up a few things. I took too much out in Act 1. I can’t enter Milo and Maisie because it’s in the Nano Watt Award under novellas. We’ll see. I don’t need a Wattys. Most great authors were not recognized because they won a Wattys.

But your work is so good!

I went to the doctor, too, y’all. Don’t worry, I’m healthy. My anxiety’s just been a little high since returning from Florida. They dub it DCP depression, but I believe I made the right choice in coming home. I may have to start back with a counselor soon, but we’ll see. It was a big adjustment coming home, just like Disney was a big adjustment coming from a small town in Charleston.

@CroodsGirl nothing wrong with seeing a counselor/therapist! Always a good idea to have someone to talk to even if it's because of an occupational adjustment or other similar life change :)

Hi, guys! I'm going to chat with a journalist tomorrow about possible job opportunities, and I also applied for a new job with Disney as a Story Analyst. Haven't been writing much on my stories lately, but I have been writing for my mentor and am editing Through the Wormhole on the side. Dad's going out of town for a few days next week, so I may be able to squeeze some writing in then. But yeah, I'm busy right now, but I'm working on Milo and Maisie offline with my coach, and Through the Wormhole is more of a private project.

Love you all, and may the Force be with you!

I have 189 books at home, y’all, with another 200 or so in Charleston. LOL! I have a lot but still a ways to go before I reach 1000 books, which is what makes a library. Most of my books are rom-coms with the occasional fantasy, science fiction, and mystery in there, as well as a few nonfiction pieces and manga. :)

Here's the review the published author gave me for Milo and Maisie! I'm confident, y'all!

"Hey, Victoria! I read a portion of Milo and Maisie because it was already backed up on my other reading, and... Surprise! It is much better than I imagined it would be. Good sentence structure, plot development, and conversation flow, which is hard to do—action, always action. Patting the cat on the nose was good, for example. Grammar was good; most importantly, you wrote about what you know. We will consider publishing it on Kindle, but it's very good. In realizing that very good still needs work, you might be able to make a career of this."

@CroodsGirl thank you :) I’m getting to be published in the near future:!
