David Smith

Hey, I'm an aspiring writer currently working on my first book.  I have been writing most of my life, took a 10 year break, and have recently taken it up again in the last year.  I have been keeping up my blog (djohnsmith) as a chronicle of my quest to get published and move from professional "whatever-I'm-doing-now" to a life as a writer.

I was inspired to pick up writing again at a good buddies fathers funeral where this guy I haven't seen in many many years asked me if i was still writing.  I cringed to say no.  Today, I can say yes, and say it proudly.  

I started writing the book, got held down in details and decided to back away from it and do some outlines and get myself set up for a month of extreme writing.

I am officially behind my goal of being finished my book.  

I am a 35 year old Native Canadian from the Miramichi, currently living in Saint John.  I am excited about my first book.  The story is really starting to take shape.  I plan on publishing as an e-book.  

I will post some of my old poetry on here as well as any other little things I can come up with in my pile of papers here.  I hope you enjoy.
