It's nearly the end of 2022 and my little Wattpad experiment is complete. I joined this platform back in May to see what it was, and whether it was something I wanted to pursue. It's been an interesting half-year since! I've read so many great stories and met a lot of dope new writers, making this a most successful experiment indeed.

As we move into 2023, I'll be changing how I operate here on Wattpad:

➡ "Grung: A Frog Wizard" will not continue, as there's no place for my sweet boy in the next phase of my writing. I need the time to work on books I intend to actually publish and sell, more information for which will come later. I'll come to him later when I once again have the brain space for his chaos.

➡ @Duncan_the_Editor will continue to produce free writing advice so I encourage you to follow along on that profile! I'm also offering book editing from there too, although it's booked out at time of writing so you'll need to wait for it to re-open.

➡ I'll keep posting the odd short story as it's been a lot of fun to test ideas for Wattpad's various Ambassador competitions. Anyone who has enjoyed my science fiction will continue to get more to read.

➡ I finished publishing "Smack-dab, in the Middle of Nowhere' here on Wattpad so anyone can read it for free. It was my debut novel, published in 2017, and is still one of my favourite stories to date. Please enjoy!

To everyone celebrating the holidays this month, have an awesome time! And a very happy new year to you all. See you (and your books!) in 2023.

Hi all! Been radio silence from me for various reasons but one is that I've been piecing together a WRITING SCHOOL. If you're a new, beginner or early-intermediate fiction writer looking to expand your skill set by WRITING, not just listening, this school will help you out a lot.

Announcement! I write a lot more outside of Wattpad than within, and just recently I showed off a first draft test intro for my next book: a SciFi cat-and-mouse thriller set far beneath the waves of the waterworld Thalassia.

          Here's a sneak peak:

People say space is vast. They say it is dark. They say it is hostile. But they do not know vast. They do not know dark. And they certainly do not know hostile.

Here, beneath the thrashing ocean waves, tens of metres tall at their weakest; beneath the howling hurricane winds; beneath the salmon-coloured sun that fills the sky yet gives off little more light than an array of twilight stars; here, down, deep down, way down, into the staggering depths of the open ocean and deeper still, the people know vast. They know dark.

          And they know hostile.

Woohoo! Stoked to see that "At the Edge of the Cosmos" hit number one on #beyondsol ! It's not the biggest tag in the world, but for some reason it's the one I most-wanted to climb, so very happy to see it sitting at the number one spot.

Cheers to everyone who has read and voted on my short stories, I appreciate it

Thank you everyone for 200 reads on "At the Edge of the Cosmos"! I didn't think a little SciFi anthology with only a handful of entries would get many eyeballs at all, so I'm thrilled to see people reading it and enjoying the tales (and their science backing!)

Here's to more entries in the months to come!

Bonus release! I've just released a new SciFi short story as a part of the @ScienceFiction Cargo contest. Even though it's shorter than normal (1,500 word limit) it has some of the weirdest science I've explored in this collection. Researching it was an absolute, mind bending BLAST.

Check out "WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WE'D CAUGHT" here! And as always, please Vote and comment to help it in the algorithm :)
