At 17 I started to teach my first job was in a one room schoolhouse. After five years of teaching I started my career with journalism. I have been called a volatile editor, because of this my bosses and readers do not get along. After a few months of New York newspaper I left to New Orleans and became editor of the Crescent. It was then I saw slavery for its true self wicked. I have published 160 poems.
