Hey guys, so the first chapter of Into Nettles has over sixty reads but then the number of reads dip significantly and I was wondering if there's a specific thing I could fix to make it a story you all would want to read. Thanks for your input! :)

@imagineer333 That's just the way it goes with Wattpad. If you go through any book, you'll see that people have major dips between chapter 1 and chapter 2.

I was browsing through a book that had 50 000 reads. The prologue had around 30 000, and then chapter one was just over 2000.

Some people are just scrolling through.

I've quickly peeked through your first chapter. The first thing I noticed were your large paragraphs. Now, some people get angry when someone mentions paragraph sizes, because they should be up to the author, and the length depends on what's inside. But, I've noticed more people complaining about long paragraphs, than those who refuse to split them.

So, I started seeing it like this. Think of a school textbook, and that long tedious stack of information, there's no pictures, no pauses -- just a wall of text. I think they've ruined paragraphing for all of us.

Through receiving, giving and just spying on reviews, I've noticed that people crave action (RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!!), and long paragraphs tend to not be action packed at all, and look heavy on the eye.

Anyway, that's how I see it.
