Hello. Now how did you end up here? Well, seeing as you did, I'd best write something.

I'm Jeremy Thackray, a 26-year-old museum worker living in Cambridge. When I'm not working or undertaking an epic procrastination session, you'll find me making music, cycling around or writing stories on Wattpad.

A little more on my stories:

'A Dream of the Heaven' is the big one. In my head it's a trilogy of fantasy novels, but in reality it's one novel with more to come. It's fantasy with a streak of Game of Thrones-style realism, but set in a Renaissance world where science is increasingly coming to the fore. The main characters are two brothers: one an astronomer and inventor of the telescope, the other a great general of his homeland. Circumstances will lead them toward wondrous and terrible discoveries about themselves, their world, and the nature of the Universe itself. The whole of Book 1 is up and is now a Featured Wattpad story!

'Specimen #626' and 'Death Distilled' are short, dark fantasies set in a pseudo-Victorian world where scientists and politicians fight against the influence of cults and horrors from the world of myth. Both are written in a diary format and feature plenty of mystery and intrigue. Death Distilled follows #626, but you don't need to have read one to understand the other.

Lastly, 'The Connoisseur' is a time-travelling romance. Imagine what would happen if Casanova got hold of the TARDIS, and you have an idea of where it goes. More than that, though, the story is about beauty, why we search for it and what drives people to try and make it. The story follows Sophia, a normal girl from 2013, who is suddenly whisked away on a series of impossible dates, but who soon has to work out what sort of relationship she can have with a time-travelling aesthete.

Thanks for taking a look and I hope you enjoy my stories!

I've just posted the last chapter of The Connoisseur. It's done! Sophia and Alexander's journey has reached its end (on paper, at least - I wonder if they'll keep going...). This chapter is a bump...
