Jamie Grefe is an author writing within the realms of the bizarre, the darkly comedic, the surrealistic, the horrifying and the cinematic. His first book, The Mondo Vixen Massacre, was published in 2013 by Eraserhead Press. It has been described by author Stephen Graham Jones as, “…the beating heart of the action movie always playing in the back of all our reptile brains.”

Grefe is also the author of two limited-edition Dynatox Ministries novellas, Cannibal Fatales and Mutagon II. His short fiction and poetry appears in such venues as Birkensnake, The Bacon Review, New Dead Families, elimae, Prick of the Spindle, Sein und Werden and Bizarro Central among other places.

In 2014, Grefe began writing for the screen. Believe it or not, he quickly sold FOUR scripts to one his low-budget directorial idols who shall (for the time being) remain unnamed. Currently, Grefe is amassing a library of spec scripts that he hopes to sell and/or attract the attention of a talent agency and/or manager.

Grefe is a graduate candidate in the New England College Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program as well as a post-bachelor student in Education at Northern New Mexico College.

His overarching creative interests include the manifestation of excess, fear, anti-comedy, comedy, exploitation, science-fiction, raunch, animation, horror, the body, the gratuitous, and writing for the big screen.
