I am 18 and currently on the path to be an author. I haven't always been into books at all so I definitely won't say that I'm good at grammar, spelling or sentence structure. What I feel I'm good at is creativity.
    I played with action figures until the 8th grade. I'm not ashamed of that. It wasn't because I wanted to make little toy guns and shoot them or hit two army men together and see which one breaks first. It was for me to get my imagination and creativity out. I could take an army man and a Yoda action figure and basically paint over them in my mine. The army man could be a superhero who got his powers from a meteor that got blown off of an intergalactic planet. And Yoda could be a cave goblin that had been on earth since before the dinosaurs but had found away to survive the meteor. And the meteor could be later discovered as the same kind of meteor that gave the army man his powers. Or Yoda could just be Yoda.
    The point is, I've felt that my creativity has always been one of my strong suits. I figured the more you do something, the better you get at it. So the beginning of freshman year of high school, I started writing my first actual book, The Waking of the Dead. I've been very surprised with how far I've gone with it. All I've been telling myself is that if I keep writing, I'll get better and so will the book. So that's what I'm doing.
    You have no idea how many people read the title of my book and see it as "The Walking of the Dead" I'm just letting you all know, I had no intention to steal the name from the walking dead. But since it's so popular, people see walking instead of waking.
