New chapter for Mimesis is up. Cooper strikes out on his own, looking to follow up with an old buddy of his. We learn a little more about what was inside the home and what sort of tools our villain has employed to catch his victims.

          	More to follow.

Random update: I added a long chapter that's a continuation of my Mimesis story featured on the Take Away the Saints Anthology. The story resets, in a way, and we find one of our protagonists searching for the right decision, while the other desperately reaches for something to hold on to.

It's been a while, but I updated Solace with two new stories. I went through some of my submitted work, dusted it off and placed it up here. Like the rest of the Solace short stories, these aim to highlight familiar concepts of the human experience.

One story, Bullied, is about the indestructible bond between siblings.

The other, Mornings After, highlights are more lingering bond between two companions.

I hope you enjoy them both.

Part three of my nonfiction story is live.

Often times, we hear simple truths as children, and when we become an adult, that truth stays with us. Even if it's wrong. This final part speaks to a "truth" taught in the Christian church. It highlights a moment in my life when I sided with religion, instead of a good friend.

This piece touches on how the church wants to make something like homosexuality a binary thing. A "Choice." My hope is that this piece humanizes both sides of the argument.

          I hope you enjoy it.

Part two of my three part nonfiction story is live. This piece dives into the religious upbringing I had as a child. Most often, teenagers are searching for identity. Certainly we know of stories of kids buying all black, of engrossing themselves in drama class or spending every waking moment improving at a sport.

Belonging, identity and direction are things that I was lacking when I entered high school. I found it with my friends, within the tight-knit community of my church.

By the time I was 16, my identity was one centered around God.

New story up: it's about the power of religion, and how, if wielded poorly, can separate two good friends. It's a nonfiction piece I've been working on for years and I have a feeling I'll never been finished or completely satisfied with it. Some stories are hard to write, and even harder to share. But this is the best version I've got. The story won't pull any punches. I look into the mirror and what I find is not kind.

Part I introduces concepts that'll unfold into the bigger picture. I hope you enjoy it.

Hey friends!

Just a late and quick update, if you take a look at my profile, you'll see Mimesis (with a fancy cover) has taken up residency as an ongoing work (Originally from Take Away the Saints anthology). I posted it here to enter into the 2017 Wattys, so wish me luck!

Also, I'm currently working on continuation chapters. Once they're finished/polished/mostly perfect I'll be adding them there.

          Alright, that's all I got.
