To be a writer of any skill, one needs to have more than a passing interest in reading. I am an avid reader, but due to writing and other life constraints that have to take the most priority, I tend to go for stories that emotionally capture me in the moment and able to hold its momentum to make me stick with it. For this reason I will only read the first five pages of any story, and a lot depends on whether I can go from there or not. If I think a story is good, I vote for it.

Like most writers who are busy making the best of their work, it is a turn-off being asked to read a piece without any attention being given to your own. I have ignored anyone before that did this, so please don't do this or feel bad if you still do and don't get any response.

Now, let's all have fun while we improve lives in this world, one (or a gazillion!) story at a time!
