USS Oregon

Wattpad's still being difficult with chapter arrangement, and the ABL Remastered story is already suffering. This time I decided to put my foot down early and simply cut and paste new chapters while deleting the old ones. It'll tank my read count and sadly delete your comments, but fortunately only chapters 4 and 5 were being problematic. #4 is republished, but sadly I lost part of the second half of #5 in the process. This does provide an excuse to clean that section up some, but I still have to go through the chore of rewriting that part again. Won't be back up for some time, but don't worry too much. 
          
          Chapter 6 WAS in the works, but I think I'll have to perform my rough drafts somewhere other than Wattpad, since I'm starting to think draft chapters left for too long might be part of the problem.

This is primarily a bit of decision-making for future me but I'd rather ask this now while I'm thinking about it. 
          
          You know how the description of ABL Remastered mentions an alternate storyline and ending? Well, in general it will be much darker and grimmer than the main story. This will be a kind of what-if-this-specific-scenario-happened situation. 
          
          The problem here is that the alternate storyline will branch away from the main at a future point (still to be determined), and I am curious to know whether you'd rathe: 1)have the AS (alternate story) part of the main book in appropriately marked chapters, or 2) just make the AS its own separate book. 
          
          Either way is easy for me, but I do have a specialized book cover prepared in case you the readers prefer a separate book. Let's just say it sets the...overall mood of the story, if I say so myself. 
          
          TL;DR: Integrated or separated alternate storyline?

Remember in the original Bulldog's Legacy that a portion of the chapters are out of order? Well, THAT PROBLEM IS STILL HERE
          
          I just want to reliably reorder my book chapters WITHOUT PLAYING MAJONG SCRAMBLE TITANS EVERY DAMN TIME
          
          Even worse, sometimes I log in to find them out of order when they were perfectly fine before!
          
          Eventually I will simply be unable to reorder book chapters. It's incredibly frustrating because I have to cut and paste content from one chapter to another just to keep the story in order. 
          
          I don't want to do that with the original ABL as it will mess up all the comments for the effected chapters. Thankfully with ABL's remake it's easier when draft chapters are involved, but still the whole problem is extremely frustrating.

Chapter 3?

I used to think that the original Oregon story was more of a rough draft than anything, but as I look back at the earlier chapters I'm realizing just how good they actually are.
          
          One problem this creates is that the new remastered versions have to somehow top them, which is, to be frank, better said than done. So far the 2 remastered chapters seem worse than their OG counterparts, which shouldn't be the case as they're supposed to be the upgrade and not a downgrade.
          
          Perhaps it's just a side effect of me trying to make each chapter the absolute best it can be, when in actuality I'm only building a hurdle that's too high for myself. 
          
          TLDR: I have to create a better story while not copying the already successful original story, and I'm not making it easy for myself.
