Two days and 7k words over two chapters, new content has been posted for Bull Shark. I am going to finish this story before I take on the monolith that is Innocence Waxing. The boys are still stuck in Italy. Oscar seems to think he is being faced with the prisoner's dilemma, which every reader will no doubt sigh when you find out what he does. Fun times ahead.

Hey Everybody!

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and that not only the new year but the new decade is being looked forward to. My god, ten years ago I would have been watching the cricket on the telvision from warm Sydney getting ready for the annual family new years eve party on Sydney Harbour (before we moved to Melbourne) and it never crossed my mind that ten years later that I would be sitting in England and uploading a chapter of my new book to a site on the Internet. Unreal.

Some of my long-suffering followers have seen me make a start on Innocence Waxing for a while. The first few chapters have been rewritten a few times, as recent as a month ago. The new content I am very happy with and sets the story up for many convoluted and dark twists, but will actually enable me to finish it. This is why you can rejoice, as there is new content! FINALLY, I know I hear you murmur. I have the next five chapters already planned out which is making it easier to write them. Easy as in my fingers touching the keys and not getting distracted by life and times here in cold England with the new year approaching.

I hope that you will reacquaint yourself with Jayden McKenzie and what he is getting up to. His timeline will soon meet what played out in Innocence Waning, which will be very interesting, to say the least.

Speaking of Innocence Waning, I spent the better part of the month getting the text published in the form of two books on Amazon. This led me to the bright idea to have it translated and uploaded into other Amazon Marketplaces. When I see the French version of Part 1 the most popular of the day, it puts a smile on my face.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading the latest chapter of Innocence Waxing as I enjoyed writing it.

Greetings from Scotland and Merry Christmas.

For those that have been following me on this account (and my previous one) for a while AND have read Innoncence Waning, I thought I would share the review that is coming out in the January 2020 issue of Publishers Weekly / Booklife. As you can imagine, I am thrilled. Get Innocence Waning on Amazon today :) XX --

Mitchell’s striking debut novel—the first of two volumes set in Melbourne, Australia—dives into the psyche of a reckless gay teen. -- [narrative]

Mitchell gives Chezdon a strong voice and a stronger personality that take a little while to get comfortable with, but soon readers will be hooked. He does not shy away from depravity—the debauched afternoon among the boys is a virtuoso sequence—but it is the sweet relationship that develops between Chezdon and Austin that appeals most. It’s frustrating to watch Chezdon actively jeopardize that relationship while trying to get what he thinks he wants. Chezdon is highly impulsive, and the plot mostly consists of him careening from one bad decision to another.

Mitchell is best with ambiguities, such as Chezdon’s relationship with Jayden, which varies from intimate to antagonistic. The starker elements get too hectic for Chezdon (and the reader) to process. The dialogue and narration are also uneven, encompassing both accurate teen speak and highly didactic exchanges. Some awkward word choices (“drink from the ejaculating showerhead”) and vivid descriptions of bodily functions disrupt the narrative, but one erotic sex scene proves Mitchell can write effectively. Readers will likely see where Chezdon’s downward slide is going, but will be eager to see whether he can put himself back together in part two.

Takeaway: Older queer teens will enjoy living vicariously through the sex, drugs, and drama of Mitchell’s gay coming-of-age novel.

Great for fans of Scott Heim’s Mysterious Skin, Bret Easton Ellis.

@Annteee Thank you :) Don't burn up in Melbourne (I don't miss that heat, besides you can get in the Christmas spirit easier in the cold grey days instead of a pool with my near-naked mates. Oh wait...)

Greetings from Scotland.

I have been busy getting Innocence Waning Part 2 ready for publication on Amazon. The eBook is now available and the paperback will be ready for ordering in the next day or so. Exciting times after this project has taken a few years to complete.

If you are reading Innocence Waning on here, hurry up and finish it. I am thinking of taking it down at the end of the year. Why buy the eBook or the paperback when you can get it on here (although this is the rough-draft) for free? What do you think?

With the whole of last week devoted making the final edits and sorting out the cover for IW Part 2, I didn't get around to writing much else. I do have 6K words in draft for Innocence Waxing. When I can focus my eyes on it more, I will finish it and get it up for your viewing pleasure.

If you are looking for Innocence Waning Book 2 (or Book 1 - I released the second edition which has some minor edits) it can be found in your Amazon Marketplace.

Here is hoping the festive season is just that and you are enjoying some holiday cheer.

@chezdon1997 seems like just not what color the underwear is, but what time you take a crap, how long it was, how big around, & how many times it swirls around the toilet before it finally goes down!

@ToniaConyers I think we have all evolved from more from attending a single party than say one year of actual development in the real world. At least I did and it reads as if you had the same experience. 250 in a town, my god. There were more people than that in my old apartment tower in Melbourne. The interesting part is nobody got into my business really in the tower but I can imagine everyone knew what colour underwear you were wearing in a remote country town on a daily basis. That would make me crazy.

@chezdon1997 Lmmfao, if my parents had known what I was doing 3 months before my 16 bday & after that.....I more than likely wouldn’t of lived for my 16th year! They were super, super protective while I was growing up, having to know where I always was, I had to go home every 1/2 hour to check in (seriously, our town only had 250 people!).... it was stupid. I got into high school, went to one party, and there went all innocence!

TGIF and Greetings from Scotland.

Another week has passed. This week, you have another chapter of Innocence Waxing to entertain you. Chapter 5 is now published and ready for your kind (or unkind comments)

I will say it again. The original story has been reworked and it is not taking the same path that I first published a few years ago. I feel that the new text is of the same quality with the expected twists and turns that you would have come to expect in Innocence Waning. I made the mistake of when I was writing the previous version, that despite writing the story from Jayden's perspective, I attempted to simplify the story and the writing. That didn't work for me and it made it difficult for me to write, as the words didn't flow properly. Now they do and the deficiencies that I found in the original story have all been resolved.

After spending eight hours on this today, I feel like I need an alcoholic beverage. It is demanding work!

          Take care and be safe.

Hey Everybody!

It has been nearly two weeks since my last status update. I continue to languish in cold grey Scotland where I enjoy fresh fish, long walks with the dog and generally pleasant people. I may never return to England! It was certainly safer to be at the pub up here and shout my support for Tottenham when they played Manchester United last night. If I dared open my big mouth and didn't support one of the local teams, I would have beat and battered to a pulp.

Two more chapters of Innocence Waxing have been posted for your reading pleasure. Do note that if you read these chapters when I originally posted them two years ago, they are completely different. The story has been altered, not only so it corresponds with what transpired in Innocence Waning, but it introduces a raft of twists and turns which I believe are believable - elements that you would expect; high quality, complex and thoughtful words attached to the characters.

It will be a wild ride! Enjoy.

Also, I posted a short story called "Dead of Night" which was written and submitted for an anthology series. It was rejected only because I posted it on my own website. I believe the content offended someone. As you would expect from me, there is social commentary, not only of Manchester but shenanigans that lead to an unexpected end in the lead-up to the UK General Election next week. I reckon someone just didn't like me regurgitating a fact... I did enjoy writing it when I was a bit drunk on gin a few weeks ago though.

          Take care and be safe.

It is another cold and grey day in Scotland. That is not very exciting though is it?

The updated new and improved Chapter 2 of Innocence Waxing is now available. I am now tracking all of the little things not only in the book but the dependencies on Innocence Waning in Microsoft Onenote, which is actually making writing easier. If it is easier and the words flow quicker, it just means more content for one and all!

The BDSM tag has been added to this book on top of the mature rating. Brody is full-on. I am looking forward to getting past the first part and crossing over to the really full-on themes that I am going to explore. Time will tell.
