I look up, noticing your attention. You seem friendly enough, but I do not know what to say.
You cough.
I glance behind me, checking if your attention is somewhere else. It's not.
"Uhm, hello," I manage to croak. It sounded more like a question to me than a declarative sentence.
Silence ensues.
I look back at my laptop monitor and continue tapping at the keyboard. I try to ignore you. Perhaps by not minding your presence, you will move on.
Maybe I'm successful.
I hope not.
