Hi, everyone! We just posted an IMPORTANT UPDATE to the Black Lace Mini Awards 2024 book - please read through the entire page so you know what has changed. 
          
          Furthermore, we are still looking for participants and judges! We have tons of slots open for participants, and if categories do not have enough applicants, we WILL scrap them. 
          
          As for judges, we are in need of 1 judge for each of the following categories: 
          
          Best First Paragraph (currently no participants)
          Best First Chapter
          Best Closing Line (currently no participants)
          Best Female Main Character
          Best Male Main Character
          Best Writing Style
          Best Kiss Scene (currently no participants)
          Best Action Scene (currently no participants)
          Best Scary Scene

Hi all, happy Friday/Saturday! We wanted to quickly announce that we have decreased the number of judges from 2 to 1 so that we can fill up the slots quicker and so that the number is more appropriate for a mini awards (we'll save 2 judges for our big awards coming up in October).
          
          Thus, judges slots for Best Cover, Best Title, Best Blurb, Best Character Aesthetics, Best Opening Line, Best Prologue, Best Epilogue, and Best Steamy Scene have been filled!
          
          Even so, there are still A LOT of slots open for both judges and participants, so please spread the word about these awards to anyone who you'd think might want to enter!

Hi, everyone! Super stoked by all the participants and judges applying for the Black Lace Mini Awards. Please keep reading, voting, and tagging so that other people can join! 
          
          We just wanted to take this time to quickly reiterate the following regarding these Mini Awards: 
          
          WE DO NOT TAKE FANFICTION, SHORT STORIES, OR POETRY AT THIS TIME. We will not be individually checking each story anymore as this rule is clearly stated within the awards book. Therefore, please ensure that you are carefully reading every chapter (this is also why we require you to vote on every chapter)!
          
          If any fanfiction, short stories, or poetry do slip through the cracks, we will be removing it from the final participants list and consequently, the story/ies will not be judged.
          
          Thank you for your understanding. Again, please spread the word of these Mini Awards to anyone who writes or enjoys reading horror, mystery/thriller, paranormal, or dark romance. The faster we get the slots filled up, the faster we can commence judging!
