it's been over a year since i quit wp, and have (sort of) come back to test the waters. the environment is so different from what it used to be lol

@qilins-desire hello idk if u remember me at all but i just saw this in my feed. wattpad has kinda died from what i can see. or at least it's changed a lot. many good authors migrated and left the platform. so thats what's happening. im currently looking for other writing platforms myself as well. i hope ur doing well anyway :)

Hello, everyone.
I've been considering taking this decision for quite some time, and here's what I've decided to do: leave Wattpad.
When I joined this community in 2018, I was looking for a place where I could write my stories and improve upon my storytelling skills. And then I hung around because there were so many good stories written by other people. Later, I joined a book club and made lovely friends. We'd read and review stories. But last year, the club was disbanded. Most of the members aren't even active anymore. Well, I still kept reading (occasionally writing) and making new friends.
Because of many events in life then, I was down. All the time. It was very difficult to be interested in hobbies, or anything for that matter, as life itself seemed pointless. Partly because of my friends' (both real life and online) efforts and partly because of my own, I've been able keep my head above the water and feel hope. And Wattpad was my secret haven in all of that, so I was very attached to this platform.
Now, I'm leaving WP because it no longer feels like that place. Most of my friends have left. Unique writing styles have become elusive to me. Most of my favourite writers are either shifting their books to other platforms due to plagiarism, or leaving. It feels so empty and lonely here, a shell of what I found it earlier.
I've stopped coming here, but I still write. I have a blog:

I'm sorry our journey here has come to an end, but I am grateful for the continuous support and love I received while I was here. Thank you for everything that you gave me. :)
