I have a sci-fi story that will not leave me alone. WTH

I guess I am going to have to, at least, rough draft something omg.

I think I have this retirement thing licked. No, not physically licked, goober, but I think I am getting a handle on it. It's a mental shakedown you have to work through, believe me.

But I highly recommend it, retirement.

I am starting to show more interest in reading and writing. Chapter seventeen is finished, but chapter eighteen is just staring at me. And I still don't have a why for my short story.

But I am updating the website I manage for the writers group and I am insisting I read something, a book, but I start with news on the internet while drinking my coffee. Now to make a list of sites I have a page on, like this one, and get busy adding to my portfolio.

I'm almost through the 'honeymoon period', or as I like to call it 'my retirement meltdown". I retired at the end of February 2021 after 28 years with the Federal Government. And you'd think I would be silly with glee and all that, but that didn't happen right away. First I had to have my nervous breakdown before I could get on with the rest of my life.

Retirement meltdown feels much like empty nest syndrome. If you have kids and they grew up and moved out, and you had a minor adjustment period with emotional rollercoaster rides and "Now what do I do with myself?" periods, that's about what it feels like.

But it's starting to fade and I hope that soon I will be back to the writing. I have been working on learning Spanish and German so I am finally coming out of my funk. :)

Yeah, not so much writing yet, but I did pull out two of my novels out of storage. between the pandemic, and my new retirement, I've been too distracted to get back go work on my projects...but hopefully I will get back to it soon. Not trying to stress myself out right now.

Nope, still not writing but I finally retired from my day job so maybe I will get back to it. Since I turned in my work equipment I took back my home office, rearranged it, and took out three of my novels in progress and some short stories.

But I have submitted, and been published at https://jayzohub.com/darkmythproductions/theworldofmyth/contributors/stradley_loretta.html That's kind of writery, right?

Well, the epidemic, or is it pandemic, put a kibosh on the writing so the first draft for Night probably won't be finished until the end of 2020 instead the end of July 2020. :(

And the movie won't be made any time soon, either. As for my pilot, eh, I really need to focus on the first draft and then the pilot. And I still have to put the bible together. *sigh* One thing at a time, one thing at a time.

2020 writing goals

Write one chapter a week. By end of March 2020 the first draft will be finished.
Read target TV pilot script similar to my story and make notes. I should have it read and notated by end of April.
Decide which three chapters will be my TV pilot and begin first draft. First draft should be finished by end of May.
Maybe, get short movie script made into a film. I'm thinking September.

For now that is all I have besides short stories to submit. :)
