Hey, everyone! It has been a long, *long* time and I'm so sorry about that. It's been a crazy summer of trying to figure out what my life is going to look like this fall where...nothing ended up changing.

Jesus and I have had some words about this.

That aside, there's a new chapter of ABOLITION up (and I promise to be more diligent about posting that).

Also, if anybody is in need of freelance editing services, I just launched my website here: skellaredits.com. I know that hiring an editor for your work can be super expensive, but I've tried to make my prices as affordable as possible. Whether you're searching for an agent or considering self-publishing, an editor may be worth looking into.

I hope you've all had a fantastic summer!

Okay everyone: I just uploaded a new outtake for CAVALIER.

aka I finally nailed down that David and Bathsheba retelling. And it *hurt*.

          Enjoy! Or cry. Or both.

I hope you're all having a good weekend!

@SimplyMilla12 Thanks so much for your comment :) I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Whenever I write Biblical retellings (I've got Jonah and the Easter week up here, too), I try to keep them as true to the text as possible. I'm in youth ministry, and so I am very careful about not misrepresenting the facts as much as possible and making it clear that, if I waver, it is fiction. The characters probably didn't say this. This is probably not how it went down. I just think that when we read the Bible we read it like a textbook, but these were real people with real hopes and dreams and heartaches and pains.

I'm so glad that it helped you. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to write a book with Francine Rivers ;) I hope you have a good rest of the week!

@sarakellar Your book Cavalier is cry worthy.

It really deserves to be at the top of every category here on the Pad and more.

I didnt comment at all in the book because i was so focused on inhaling it. I was kinda worried at the beginning, wondering how far you would deviate from the Bible but not (much) at all.

A book from you and Francine Rivers would be the best thing ever.

Thank you. Thank you so much because your book has helped me. Thank you <3

Apologies for the no ABOLITION update, if you're emotionally invested in it at all, on Sunday. It was a crazy, draining weekend, and so it completely slipped my mind. It's up today, though!

(and if I forget again, forgive me--ABOLITION is complete, I promise, I'm just working hard on other things)

I love you guys! How are you doing?

Hello everyone! Happy Holy Week! I hope that you're doing well, and that the Easter season is seeing your hopeful.

If you find yourself looking for something to read to put you in the mood, LIKE THE THUNDER ROARING is perfect for you. Chronicling from Palm Sunday to Peter's reinstatement, it follows the entire Easter story. So, please read, and let me know what you think!

Hey all :) Long time, no talk. My apologies for that. Personal life was kind of in turmoil for a bit, but now it's starting to normalize. Hopefully.

The most exciting news: I've published a book! FULL OF WORDS is a short story devotional book filled with 31 different short stories, retellings, and poems, each with a Biblical passage and reflective questions to go along with it. Among the stories, you can find a scene from CAVALIER in FULL OF WORDS, as well as the entirety of LIKE THE THUNDER ROARING. It's available in paperback and kindle form--just go here: https://www.amazon.com/Full-Words-Sara-Kellar/dp/1542334314/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1485564991&sr=8-1

I've decided to limit RACING ON A BED OF STARS to just the first part, for now. It's scheduled to be a five part book, so one fifth of it is on here!

Also, I discovered a part of CAVALIER I had edited out, and so I added it as an outtake. Still working very slowly on the David and Bathsheba outtake--there's words there, I promise.

I hope you are all doing well! Working on anything special?

sarakellar

(how is RACING ON A BED OF STARS at #263 in Science Fiction. Did you guys bribe somebody)

ALSO, I love you all a lot. That's the end of part one of the aforementioned SF novel (it's projected to be five parts, so we have a longgggg way to go), and I'm contemplating taking a brief break from posting until January 16. I've got the next parts finished, but life's been happening to me something fierce and I'm contemplating taking a social media break.

Thank you so much for your support!

I totally forgot to update RACING ON A BED OF STARS yesterday (there were more pressing things happening), but it's been done! We are now up to four chapters, and Llyr is well on her way to participate in an interesting opportunity.

          Happy reading!

Hello, everyone! Here are some update-y things!

          1) I FINALLY finished that retelling of Jonah (and everybody heaved a sigh)
          2) Yes, I am still haphazardly working WHEN GOD DOESN'T FLATTEN THE MOUNTAINS (that's more of a passion project than anything, which makes me feel better because no time limit constraints)
          3) FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, I have started to upload a story I am hoping to like. Actually get published some day. I am mostly uploading it as a kick in the pants to finish writing it, because it has almost been a year. A very eventful year, but a year nonetheless.
          4) That book is RACING ON A BED OF STARS, and it is very very very very much science fiction. I know that many of you are here for the Jesus-y type writings. I write two things--Biblical retellings and...science fiction. Not at the same time. Yet.

I hope you're all doing well!

sarakellar

Hello, everyone! I trust you're doing well!

There's one chapter to go in THE SEA AND THE DRY LAND before it's completed. I thank you so much for your patience in waiting for me to finish, and if it's not completed this week it will be next week.

As some of you may have noticed, I've started a new story called WHEN GOD DOESN'T FLATTEN THE MOUNTAINS. This story is a memoir about this part of my life, aka when I had to leave my dream job and God directed me towards a wild, crazy adventure. I have no timetable for it, but I hope to update it frequently. I want to share this story with you, even in the face of the crazy vulnerability it'll require. I hope you enjoy reading about the ride thus far!
