The Mission

In today's creator economy, the ultimate goal of The Storyletter is to completely change how we view, publish, and engage with fiction. Traditional publishing can seem daunting and unapproachable, but The Storyletter is trying to bridge the gap between readers and writers with a community built for both. We provide writers with a supportive platform to reach readers who desire a trusted source in new and entertaining short fiction and poetry. Your financial support goes directly back into the community, funding even more stories for everyone's enjoyment.

The Content
The Storyletter seeks to publish short stories, flash fiction, poetry, and novellas (in the form of serial fiction). Full-length novels may be considered in the future. Genres include science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, thriller, historical fiction, dystopian, utopian, new weird, magical realism, folktales, and other genre-bending tales. Non-fiction is currently not being considered. Stories are currently posted periodically based on availability and not on a set schedule.

Express Membership
The Storyletter supports emerging independent artists and creators of our time. While stories will remain free for our readers, that doesn't mean that our writers won't get paid. The Storyletter pays writers for each story that is published on Substack, therefore, becoming a paying member helps increase the payouts for your favorite indie writers. Express members also get exclusive access to the private Discord server for both readers and writers, behind-the-scenes content and the audio versions of published stories.
