Chapter 12

Lena's POV
I woke up around 530 and went down stairs Steph was already up and sitting at the table drinking coffee, I poured myself a cup and sat next to her

Steph: are the girls still asleep?

Lena: Hayden is, Halley woke up and asked if she could go to school

Steph: did I hear you right We have a child that wants to go to school?

Lena: you did, she's getting dressed now

Steph: are we going to try and have Hayden go today?

Lena: I think we leave that up to her. Callie, Marianna, Jude, and Jesus are still here

Steph: I think we should let Hayden spend the day will Callie. We have to meet with a therapist today anyways so I think her being with Callie until then will be a good idea

Halley: morning

Lena: good morning Halley

Steph: did you sleep good?

Halley: yeah, I feel really safe here

Lena: good

Halley: where's Hayden?

Steph: she's still asleep, we are going to let her stay home today. She has a dr appointment later today.

Halley: ok

Steph: I'm going to go wake Callie up and let her know

Steph got up and went upstairs

Steph's POV

I went upstairs and went into Callie and Marianna's room and found Callie holding a sleeping Hayden

Steph: hi baby

Callie: Hi mom

Steph: is everything ok?

Callie: yeah she was having a hard time going to sleep and finally fell asleep when I held her 

Steph: ok, she has a doctor's appointment in a few hours, Halley has asked to go to school today so mama is going to take her when she goes

Callie: wait your telling me Halley wants to go to school?

Steph: I am

Hayden must have woken up while Callie and I were talking because she started talking to us

Hayden: Halley loves school, the last foster home we were in they wouldn't let us go most of the time because of the bruises. Halley is really smart she's ahead of everyone in her class

Steph: well from now on school will be an important thing for both of you

Hayden: ok

I could tell that there was something bothering Hayden but I wasn't going to push it just yet

Steph: Lena is going to take Halley with her to school today and you Callie and I are going to go to the dr and then if your up for it we can go shopping and get you some new clothes and a few things for your room, then tomorrow since it's Saturday Lena and I will take Halley shopping

Hayden: you really don't have to get me anything I'm ok with what I have

Steph: Hayden 5 shirts and 2 pairs of pants isn't enough, if Lena and I didn't want to do this stuff for you and Halley then we wouldn't but we do

Hayden: thank you Steph 

Steph: you and Callie get ready and we will leave in 20 minutes

Hayden: ok
