Once Lost Hard to Gain Back

Friends Finally

No he didn't know the person do to not really talking or looking at any of his housemates. He knew from looking that the boy was more then likely a fourth year at the oldest. The boy said "Hi my name is Cedric Diggory I heard you crying I wanted to see if your alright." Harry said "Hi my name is Harry Potter and I'm not alright. I don't have the best home life and it seemed that it followed me to school." Cedric opened his arm making an open invitation for a hug. Harry took that invite and hugged the boy he just met. While hugging Cedric asked "Do you want to tell me about it. I'm a really good listener. I think we should be friends. I'm a fourth year by the way."

Harry said "Thanks for being my friend. Do to my family I've never had a friend before." Harry then proceeded to tell Cedric about his home life and what was going on at school. Harry didn't go into much detail just enough to give Cedric an idea of what was going on. Cedric and Harry continue to talk for a bit before going to dinner. After dinner Harry and Cedric went to the common room and studied. After awhile the two bid each other good night and went to bed. Harry was ecstatic he had a friend. He just hoped that his family didn't ruin it. The next day Harry went to the great hall with Cedric and the two talked why they eat. Harry was worried about today. He had both his father and his father's friend as teachers. At breakfast Harry told Cedric of his concerns.

Cedric decided to meet with Harry and walk him to his classes when he had Professor Potter and Professors Lupin and Black. That ways Harry might be safe from them. When he left potions to walk to DADA he was greeted by Cedric. Harry asked "Why are you here Cedric shouldn't you be headed to your own class?" Cedric said "Harry I want to walk you to class I'll then walk you to your next class and pick you up for lunch its not that big of a deal. I thought you could use the company." Harry nodded and the two boys made there way to DADA. As Harry arrived his dad had saw the two boys and was curious on why he son was being dropped off by a fourth year. He was also planning Harry's punishment. Professor Potter said "Hello Mr. Diggory may I know why you are with Mr. Potter." Harry shaking next to Cedric knowing that he was going to be hurt. He just didn't knowhow much it would be. Cedric said "Hello sir, for your information I was just walking my friend to class as I have a free period at the moment."

James nodded then said "Well alright have a good day Mr. Diggory. Now then Mr. Potter my office I have something to discuss with you." Harry walked into his father's office and waited. He knew he was going to be beat and yelled at. He made a friend and that was a rule he broke. He wasn't allowed to have friends according to his rules. His special rules since the rest of his brothers didn't have the same rules. They were allowed friends they where even allowed to go to their friends houses and hang out. Harry wasn't allowed friends he wasn't allowed to do anything. He was allowed to be nothing more then a punching bag for his father, his father's friends and his brothers. Once James had joined Harry in his office since they still had a few minutes before class started. James put up some spells to silence everything said and locked the door so no one could disturb them.

James yelled "HOW DARE YOU MAKE A FRIEND. HOW DARE YOU BREAK ARULE. YOU KNOW THE PUNISHMENT FOR BREAKING ONE OF YOUR RULES DON'T YOU. AFTER CLASSES TODAY YOU WILL DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO MAKE MR.DIGGORY NO LONGER A FRIEND HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR." Harry said in a quite voice "Yes sir." James didn't even register that his son called him sir and not dad or father. James then beat him till there was a minute before class started. James said "Get to your seat and I will be informing Moony and Padfoot that you need to be punished some more for making a friend you have them next don't you." Harry replied with "Yes sir I do." James said "Good now go."

Harry made his way to his seat. He was hurting but he was used to the pain. He was constantly in pain at home so it was no big deal to him. Once class was over Cedric was waiting for Harry to come out. As they walked Harry said "Cedric, James told me I had to quit being your friend but I don't want to quit being friends. Your my first friend and I like having a friend." Cedric said "Why would you have to not be my friend don't your brothers have friends. What do you mean I'm your first friend didn't you have friends growing up. I like being your friend and I'm not going to stop being your friend." Harry said "Yes my brothers have friends. No I was never allowed to have friends growing up. James made a special set of rules for me. One of the rules is no friends. They even have a special punishment for me if I break that rule."

Cedric and Harry continued to talk about stuff on the way to History of Magic. Once there the two boys split ways and Harry went in to face the wrath of James' friends Remus and Sirius. Harry was once again called to their office. Once the spells were up Sirius started yelling at him. He and Remus then started hitting him until there was a minute before class started. He was then sent to his seat and class began. After class the rest of the day went by fast as he and Cedric talked. After the first week of classes he was excited for his for flying class it was going to be fun. He wasn't allowed to ride a broom at his house. His family always beat him when they caught him on a broom. Harry was good on a broom he knew it. Once when he was seven he decided to ride a broom he thought he had enough time to ride and put the broom up before he would be caught but that wasn't the case he had just successfully pulled off a Warnski Feint when his father started yelling at him about how he was in trouble and that he wasn't allowed on the broom.

After the yelling he was punished by everyone hitting him. It was the first time he was punished with magic. His father had used the circuitous curse on him. That was the day Harry quit calling James dad and started using his name James or sir. It was also the day he quit calling Remus uncle Moony and Sirius uncle Padfoot. Harry quit thinking about the past when he got to the place where flying lessons would be. Madame Hooch was talking to them when all of a sudden a boy's broom went AWOL why the boy was on it. Before people could think the boy started to fall. As soon as the boy started to fall Harry took off on his broom and caught the boy and then landed the two of them on the ground safely. Madame Hooch said Mr. Potter and Longbottom come with me. The rest of you stay put till I come back anyone caught on a broom in the air will find themselves out of Hogwarts before I say quidditch."

Harry and the boy Nevelle went with the teacher and went inside of the school. Now Madame Hooch was impressed with Harry's skills on a broom. She also knew that Hufflepuff house was looking for a new seeker as their last one graduated last year. They went up to the mediwing to make sure Nevelle was alright. After dropping Nevelle off Harry and Madame Hooch went to find Professor sprout. Once there Madame Hooch knocked on the door. Once in the office Madame Hooch explained what happen and thought that even though he was a first year he could be the Hufflepuff's new seeker. Professor Sprout thanked Madame Hooch and sent her back to the class she was teaching. Harry was worried that he would be punished for being on a broom. After talking he was told that he would be seeker and that he would be introduced to the captain of the team later and to go. By the time he left the office of Professor Sprout he was done with flying lesson and was free. He went and found the boy that he saved he wanted to make sure he was alright. Harry found him by himself under a tree.

After approaching the boy he said "Hello my name is Harry Potter I was wondering if you are alright after the broom incident." Nevelle looked up and said "Yes I'm alright thanks for saving me by the way I'm Nevelle Longbottom do you want to be friends." Harry agreed even though he knew he would be punished for gaining yet another friend. He just hoped that Nevelle would still be his friend once he found out about his home life. What Harry didn't know is that Nevelle knew about his home life he watched the bruised little boy when his parents took him over to the Potters to play with the boy who lived. As it was since his parents were the godparents of Samuel. Nevelle wanted to play with the bruised boy and be his friend not the little brat that happened to be his godbrother. As it turned out the Potters where named Nevelle's godparents.

  Harry learned all of this as the two talked they were joined by Harry's other friend Cedric and the three of them talked all the way to the great Hall for dinner. With it being the weekend they decided to go to the library to work on homework and study. So the next day after breakfast Harry was called into his father's office. Waiting there was his father, Remus and Sirius. The three started to hit him and yell at him. That he wasn't supposed to have friends that he wasn't allowed on a broom and anything else he wasn't supposed to do that he apparently has done. After they got tired of actually hitting him they started firing spells at him. Of course all of this avoided area's that would be seen. He then was told to get out of their sight till they had to see him which would be at meal time.
