TWO PEOPLE CAN SPIT IN YOUR FACE, but we get angry then move on when it's a stranger, glad that we'll never see or hear from that person ever again, but when it's someone close to us we let it fester, festering turns into resentment and resentment turns into indefinite space. A stranger can swing at you and you dodge, but let someone you love take that swing and the now bruised knuckles might connect or you stare in shock after they miss - not able to get rid of the ache and pain that swing left behind. It's natural to hold on to hurt that your loved causes because you don't expect it, you don't want to expect that someone you care for and assume cares for you is willing to cut you so deeply.
