Anbarey: 3

Sivaangi frowned at the man in front of her. Did he talk to her?

"Sivaangi?"

Yes, he was most definitely talking to her.

The increasing whispers amongst her students brought her to reality and she turned around to look at her students. Yes, they were back to talking about Harry Potter probably. She could deal with the man in front of her in a minute, or when she was ready if she ever would be.

"Class", she raised her voice immediately for the whispers to stop.

"If you are done with the problem on board, start the eighth one in the book".

She stared at her students who slowly got back to their books, closed her eyes momentarily and exhaled before she turned back to look at the man in front of her.

Ashwin was looking at her with amusement.

She could do this, put on a smile and act like she wasn't freaking out.

"Doctor Sir? Enna Inga?", she tried her best to sound excited.

"Umm, amma un address kuduthaanga. Gate ulla vandhaa it looked the noise came from up here, adhaan mela vandhen. I can wait downstairs. Nee class mudichutu vaa".

"Oh", Sivaangi felt blank. What was going on here? Why was he here when he was supposed to be half way across the globe?

"Sivaangi?"

Yes, Ashwin was talking to her, again. The last time she met him some fifteen years ago at the hospital she had been mentally prepared to some extend after seeing his name on the chart. But today had come out of nowhere.

"Sivaangi? Is this a bad time? I can come back".

"Come back?" that thought jerked her.

"Ayyo, Illa Illa. Sorry. Oru nimisham", she answered confused.

Sivaangi leaned over the parapet and called out to her daughter, "Priya, Priya?".

Her daughter stuck her head out the small porch in front of the door downstairs, "enna ma?".

When Priya realized someone standing on the staircase, she walked out questioningly.

"Sir ah ulla kootitu po".

"Doctor sir, neenga ulla ukkaarunga. Naa class mudichutu vandhudren. Another fifteen minutes", she eyed the watch on her wrist.

He nodded his head once and quickly descended the stairs.

Sivaangi watched Priya smile and extend her arm into the house, "please" walking behind him only to run back to the stair case and mouth at Sivaangi, "Doctor Ashwin Kumar?" dramatically.

Why couldn't he have come by on a day when Priya wasn't around?

Sivaangi exhaled looking back at her students who were busy with the problem they had been asked to work on.

But they would eventually leave and she would need to face him. Eighteen years and yet here she was feeling the way she was feeling right now.

Shaking her head, she called out for her daughter again, "Priya".
