far across the land
lived a stone across the shore
surrounded by other stones
whose beauty it adored
the stone tried to fit in
so it smoothed its edges,
smoothed its texture,
and smoothed its ridges
oh little did the poor stone know
that it was making a mistake
the stone had lost all its lustre
just to blend in with the fakes
but upon seeing its reflection in the sea
the stone learnt something special
all along the same stone was a gem
trying hard to imitate the pebbles
