"Hold on… wait a minute." Wang Jun raised his hand.

All he knew about his life was just being an ordinary youngster, unsure of his own future, never before he dreamt about becoming someone with high status, or in this case… A Villain, a vendetta that wreaks havoc in his wake.

Sure, everything about a Villain, in the eyes of people who are blinded by justice and righteousness may attach the 'he-must-die' persona to a villain and glorify the hero's deed when he slain this menace of society.

Wang Jun didn't see himself in any of those roles, either hero or a villain, all he cared about was to survive.

"You said, it's a role that can't be filled by a random person. Am I not a random person to you? What makes you think that I am suitable for this role?"

Instead of telling him, Bai Ning showed him the CCTV records which captured every activity from his apartment to his workplace on dozens of monitor screens, arranged on the wall. But of course, no footage of him in the restroom.

Wang Jun's apathetic behavior towards anyone else, shows him that he's suitable for a villain. His physiological trait also being displayed on the screen, it says that Wang Jun has a strong psychopathic tendencies.

It could be safe to say that Bai Ning had Wang Jun under her surveillance for a year and a half.

Despite his daily life being recorded without his consent, Wang Jun couldn't complain either about Bai Ning using the security camera to monitor his daily life. Besides, privacy is something that you can buy nowadays, if you had the person to buy from and the money.

Moreso, if he had access to the main frame of the city's security camera, he would do the same to anyone he wishes to know their private life.

For this… sheltered, bourgois young lady in front of Wang Jun, money is, but an endless waterfall. This also gave Wang Jun an idea of Bai Ning's background, although it's only on surface level.

"As you can see on the screen, we had you under our watch. The same also goes with the other candidates before we send them the invitation email. But you are something entirely different… Subject. Your sheer will to survive the situation you are in, yet still holding your insanity to burst out of yourself… I couldn't imagine what kind of horrendous things you are capable of doing, if the laws and common sense in this world are totally different…"

"Was my answer enough for you, Master Wang Jun?

The young lady's endearing, soft and tender voice invoking something that Wang Jun had suppressed for the longest. He knew it was there, lying dormant for far too long, a primal instinct that would drive him into madness and insanity.

Wang Jun knew for the best he shall not be defeated by that thing that lurked inside him and he will never give up his sanity and stay human.

Thus Wang Jun came to realize that Bai Ning was trying to brainwash him and turned him into her plaything. That something far worse than working his bone to the limit at the restaurant.

"I am sorry… I think I am not the right person that you are looking for."

Wang Jun arose from his seat, turned the knob of the door, when he's about to exit the room, Bai Ning said something which enraged him, taunting and baiting the insanity that he had been holding on for years.

"Your mother would not last more than a half year if she didn't get the proper medication. Breast Cancer, I presume?"

Wang Jun smashed the door violently, vaulted her desk and lashed his pent up anger by grabbing Bai Ning by her collar, lifting her up from her wheelchair.

"If anything happened to my mother after I exit this building…"

Shortly after, three burly and well built men wearing black suit, rushed into the room, brandishing their hand guns towards Wang Jun.

"It's okay…" Bai Ning raised her frail hand.

The three body guards lowered their weapon and closed the door behind them as if nothing happened.

"Calm down…" Bai Ning said.

Wang Jun went back to his senses after he realized what he had done to a frail young lady in her wheelchair. He felt ashamed by it while putting her down gently.

"I am sorry, it's just so…"

"It's okay… I understand your feelings."

Unexpectedly, Bai Ning comforts Wang Jung with a simple hug, but also much needed by him. Strangely enough the feeling was somewhat familiar to Wang Jun even though it was his first time meeting her.

Bai Ning gave him a gentle pat on his back, brushing his back eventually. This time, Bai Ning was truly sincere towards him, not just a gimmick to pull him into her cause.

"So… what do you say?"

"I'll do it, sign me in." Wang Jun said, still holding her back.

"Even though your entire personality might be swallowed by your insanity?"

"I won't. Whether I should become a demon or a human, nothing will change if I don't take this step. At least, my mother would live longer, I hope."

The two parted away a few moments later after comforting each other with a hug. Bai Ning, however, doesn't seem troubled while Wang Jun's face blushed red.

"Very well… the money will be transferred to your mother's bank account. Also, I have registered her name into one of our Medical Institutions. As your father…?" Bai Ning paused.

"Oh well… he can rot in hell and that's all I care about."

Before long, Bai Ning and Wang Jun went to his apartment to pick up his mother with a car which was also guarded by two other cars flanked on either side.

This small convoy of luxurious, glossy black cars caused quite the commotion in this slum district. The youngsters in the neighborhood soon popped up in every corner of the alley to see what's happening.

"Who's that?"

"I don't know, let's check it out!"

"Wait… That's Wang Jun!"

"No way! Has he hit the jackpot and joined an elite gang or something?"
