Love dances round and round--Time is fleeting
But love keeps spinning
Circling
Maybe I'm afraid
Maybe I'm scared
Because when I see love
It's disguised
And I never know
What to look for
Maybe I'm confused
Because I've lost
All faith
That love is out there
That it is more
Than just a myth.
Maybe I'm dreading "i love you"
Because I'm dreading "goodbye"
Maybe I know things
That other people
Are too delusional
To recognize.
Maybe I know
I'm better on my own.
Or maybe
Just maybe
I'm terrified that no one
Will love me
Or be able to see
All the best things about me
Maybe I look for more
Than just "she's so pretty"
As he tells his friends
Love skips and bounds
Circling me
I'm caught in the whirlpool
Clawing my way out
It's a mess of a pink
And red flood
And heart-shaped debris.
