Jason Timothy Richard was born in Louisiana. He grew up with fantasy books like J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy and C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia, and he also enjoys science fiction. He graduated from Louisiana State University with an English degree in Creative Writing and has been hard at work refining his stories since then.

As a side note his last name, due to some Cajun heritage, is actually pronounced Ree-chard. It's a common pronunciation in Louisiana, but don't feel pressured to make a big deal about it. He won't be offended if you just call him the standard Richard. And before anyone asks, no. He does not have a Cajun accent...as cool as that would be.
