Chapter 7

Fraeya's POV

I wake up bright and early, I look to my side, Elizabeth is still sleeping. I tiptoe quietly not to wake her up and wait for everyone. After an hour, almost everyone woke up.

I notice that King isn't awake yet, "I will go get him," I stand up to go wake up the Sin of Sloth, as everyone continues to chat and Ban continues cooking. I open the door and see a sleeping King, he sleeps so peacefully, cuddling his pillow, 'This is a sight you don't see every day...'

I get close to King, as I reach out to reach my hand out to him,"F-Fraey-ya..." I hear King mumbling my name in his sleep, I turn red, 'He's dreaming of me?'

I shake my thoughts away, and put my hand on King's shoulder, "Hey King, it's time to get up." I see his handsome amber eyes fluttering open. He sits up from the bed, yawning.

"Morning Fraeya!" His cheerful smile plastered on his face.

We both walk out and join the others for breakfast, "We should train today!" Captain exclaims, gulping his last piece of food. We all nod our heads agreeing, walking outside of the tavern.

"Hey Diane, let's duel! I have been wanting to try something out." Diane nods her head.

I focus my energy, 'Maintain your energy, Fraeya.' I use my shapeshifting ability to turn into a giant form. I decided to make my long blonde hair into a ponytail, and change my clothes into my iconic blue armor.

"WOW!" Diane exclaims, as her face fills with excitement and shock.

"This does take a lot of energy, so I can only hold it for an hour, to still have some energy on the side." Diane nods her head, understanding.

"Then let's make the most of it." Diane takes her position, holding a tight grip on her Gideon, she charges fast towards me, I take damage to my chest, 'Dammit... I am slower in this form...But I do have the strength of a giant.'

"Animation!" I give life to any tree 50 ft of my range, 'Hold her.' My trees follow my order as they use their roots clinging to Diane's feet, 'This is my chance.'

I enhance my strength, about to take a hit, "Heavy Metal!' taking a blow to Diane's stomach, I barely do any damage, 'She is good.' She uses her strength to break out of my trees' roots, she commands the earth spikes to hit me. 'This is where she messed up. Yes, giants are known for their earth abilities. But us elves are more connected to nature if using enough energy. We can out control any of the castor's elemental abilities.'

I channel the earth mustering more energy, I target her earth spikes to herself. She didn't have the time to react as she began to take damage, causing her to fall to the ground. This action consumes too much of my energy, shortening my time for my shapeshifting abilities, as I transform back into my original form.

I run to Diane, "Are you okay Diane?"

Diane sits up, "I am okay! I should have seen that coming." She nervously chuckles. She stands up, "let's take a break." I nod my head in agreement, as we walk back to the tavern, we spot Elizabeth on a hill.

"Rest now Veronica. I promise things will be different. I will bring back when laughter echoed throughout the land, just like how it used to be. Even if it costs my life."

"Things will be okay." I put a reassuring hand on Elizabeth's shoulder, as she turns around to face me and Diane.

"Mark my words, we'll be able to take back the kingdom. We can all live at peace with all the races! After all, the Captain and your comrades got your back." Diane states.
