When Haela opened her eyes the next day, the sun was shining brightly. She sat on her bed, still half awake, only to hear the sound of her stomach rumbling in hunger. It caused her to remember that she was supposed to meet Bokuto. As she looked at her alarm and saw that it was already 7:40 am, her eyes grew big while she swung her bedsheets over and proceeded to get ready.

Annoyed at her own self, she exclaimed, "Ah! I can't believe I woke up so late! I should've at least set an alarm or something. Stupid me!"

She bumped over all sorts of furniture before she headed outside her apartment, and saw Bokuto waiting for her. She called his name causing him to raise his head, and he smiled at her, as she was waving her arms in the air saying she'll be down in a minute.

As per usual, Bokuto opened his arms wide and Haela happily jumped in them and they both gave each other a warm hug and proceeded to walk. They had always been this close since childhood and would often cuddle when they were both excited or haven't seen each other in a long time. Haela was relatively quiet, unless spoken to, but with Bokuto it was different.

"What do you wanna eat? It's on me today!"

Bokuto seemed surprisingly well despite the defeat Fukurodani has just undergone.

He's probably trying to not make me sulk, Haela thought.

She looked at him poutingly, "You're still saying that? I have money too you know, you don't have to pay everything for me"

Bokuto was looking at her, laughing to his heart's content, "Like I said if it's for you I don't mind spending all my money. So what will we have today?"

Giddily she answered, "Then... Crêpes!"

"HAHAHA! Your favorite, I see"

Well I didn't eat anything for a long time... thought Haela.

Eager to talk about the nationals, she changed the subject, "Anyways, I'm sad to hear that our team lost in yesterday's match... Even after all this practice... And it was also your last match and I couldn't even be here-"

Abruptly Bokuto raised his voice, "STOP!"

She looked at him baffled.

He continued, "Let's not go in that direction, it's true that we lost but that was yesterday's story. I told you, it's a good thing that you weren't here because my poor heart wouldn't have been able to endure the sight of you crying Haela!!"

He brought his palm to his chest, clutching it on his shirt while making an over dramatic expression.

She stammers, "Y-you're overreacting Bokuto! It's normal for anyone to cry"

He smiles, "You go through enough already"

Haela's eyes widened. She opened her mouth as if wanting to say something but immediately shut it tight.

They both made their way into the restaurant to eat breakfast. They were sitting at a table next to a window, giving them a view of tokyo's streets..

Both their orders came in. Haela wondered as she looked at Bokuto's plate, "I never get why you always order the american breakfast whenever we eat here. I mean their crêpes are the best and that's why we're here for, no?"

Confidently, he stated, "Well that's because I feel like I'm in america whenever I eat this and also it's good!"

Haela wasn't sure what type of response she would've expected, but certainly not this.

"Bokuto..."

While taking a mouthful of his food he says "FEELS LIKE AMERICA!"

She ignored him.

"Here try this..."

She shoved some pancakes in the ace's mouth and his face was lightened by the sweetness of the food.

"Good isn't it?"

Face full of contentment he replied, "Yesh it ish!"

"I feel like practice won't be the same without you there Bokuto-san..."

Since fukurodani lost their last match during the nationals, the third years no longer had any reason to come to practice and were free from practice to instead study for their finals.

He furrowed his eyebrows, "What are you saying? Are you afraid to feel alone"

"Well... That's not exactly it but..." she couldn't look him in the eyes.

"Don't worry about it Haela, you'll be just fine even without me around. After all you're not alone, Akaashi and the other members will be here with you and I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with them so don't worry!"

He seemed to forget that the reason why Haela was fine until now was because he was there, making her feel more comfortable around all those people.

"...Yes, thank you," she gave him a soft smile and they both continued eating.

Once outside, they started hanging around the city. A dress really catched Haela's attention, causing Bokuto to talk her into buying it for her, but she categorically refused. She didn't like the idea of him spending too much money on her. Food was already enough and she didn't want to have him buy her clothes too. Bokuto had already done a lot for her all those years, and he still continued to do so. Haela wasn't rich and could only afford the bare minimum.

Whenever she was eating out, Bokuto would always be the one to pay the bill. Sometimes he would even surprise her with gifts, saying that it reminded him of her or excuses such as she needed a new pair of shoes. He would always remind her that she didn't need to repay him, but Haela never got comfortable with this side of him and still tried to treat him from time to time when she could.

They met some teammates along the way and since one of their parents owned a restaurant they decided to go have lunch there causing Bokuto and Haela to be all excited at the idea of free food. A few hours later, they headed to Bokuto's house as they were starting to freeze in this January weather.

"AAAH I'M NOT GONNA LOSE NEXT TIME!!"

"Give it a rest already Bokuto, it's the 5th time i've beat you"

"I'M NOT DONE YET!! ONE MORE GAME!"

"Huugh"

Both friends were now playing video games in Bokuto's room. They've been at it since they got to the boy's house. Haela got tired of playing and made her way to lie in her bestfriend's bed. She was staring at the ceiling while Bokuto was still shouting about how he still desired a sixth rematch. He never wanted to accept the idea that Haela had always been better at this game than him and was acting childishly stomping his feets on the ground, still upset.

Haela turned on the bed. Her back was now facing Bokuto, clearly looking like she didn't want to have anything to do with this game anymore. Bokuto, still nowhere near giving up headed straight for her. He sat on his bed, next to her and put his head on top of hers, looking at her small face from above. They were looking into each other's eyes when the door suddenly shot open revealing Bokuto's sibling.

"Kou- What are you two doing?!"

"Nothing" said Bokuto with a smile and a subtle pink blush on his cheeks, "I was trying to get Haela to have a revenge match against me"
