The servants restrained the wife, and her husband asked them to bring her to the cliff. They did, following their master’s order, even if they were more loyal to the woman. At the cliff the husband had a question for his wife.” The old woman paused.
When I glanced at the couple, they seemed out of it. They were entranced, and didn’t move or make a sound. Their eye colors seemed lighter than before, but it could have been my eyes playing tricks on me. I noticed my surroundings for a brief moment. Everyone just walked past, only paying attention to what they were doing. For some reason, it seemed odd at the time.
The woman resumed the story, and I started dissociating again. “The husband asked, “Do one thing for me.” The wife nodded desperately, hoping that her husband would love her even a fraction as much as he did before. She would have even let him keep a mistress. However, his request wasn’t what she wanted.
“Die for me.”
From a single sentence, her life shattered. She didn’t care that she was pushed off a cliff and into an ocean by her husband, and didn't care that he had a mistress. She was angry, not at herself, but at her husband. She knew their relationship would never go back to how it was. However, she still wanted revenge.
She died on impact, and her body sank into the dark abyss that was the ocean. But her want for revenge one her husband turned into hatred of any man who cheats, and she became a living corpse.
After a few years, her old husband had heard tales of men disappearing at the cliff. At that point, he and the woman had become affianced. They planned to have their wedding at the cliff at which they threw his old wife off.
On the day they were to be wed, they had a glamorous wedding. They had an orchestra playing music and hundreds of guests. Suddenly, the orchestra stopped playing and everyone could hear a beautiful voice singing. It echoed through the cliff, and everyone could hear.
