On a chily August night the Venice family was dead. All, but one gifted girl, Sage who was about 2 years old, born on December 1st 1979. Her family was slaughtered by Voldemort. This was because Voldemort didn't want Sage's family, he only wanted her. In fact, Voldemort told them that he would spare their family's lives if they gave the girl to him, but they said that they would rather die than give their daughter to the Dark Lord. The girl had a gift that he needed in order to rule the Wizarding World. He needed her for good use. He wouldn't kill her. . . yet. The Venice family did everything they could to stop the capture of their child, so she wouldn't live as a slave to the dark wizard. What cost them were their lives. Before being killed, her grandmother, Aurora, told Sage's parents, Valeria and Agustin Venice, to put up Sage for adoption knowing that they too would be dead for protecting their child, so they did that the same night they were told to do it.
Sage being adopted would help reduce the risk of her being caught at least that was what her grandmother thought. This girl possessed these special kinds of powers that her grandma gave her all to save her life for the future, or hopefully will, so the bloodline won't end. hopefully.
Her parents left her. Teary eyed. They didn't want to leave her, but it had to be done. For her safety. Voldemort wouldn't find her this way. Valeria Venice kissed her baby on the head knowing that this would be last time she would see her before her death. When leaving, the Venices gave the worker a letter. A letter explaining Sage's secret, her gift, and also why they had to leave her. Her grandmother wrote it. She wanted the people who were to take care of Sage, to know the girl's true backstory and to know that whoever was going to be her guardian, would not be safe.
When Sage was put up for adoption a couple came in a few moments later. Maybe it was even a few minutes, but the couple came right after the Venices left the doors of the room. They were Sirius Black and Remus Black. They were married for a while now. They were desperate for a child, they couldn't find donors, so they decided to go to an adoption center one night. They weren't planning to adopt that one night but they found Sage. They immediately caught her blue diamond eyes. It was as if the world was telling them that she was the one. That she was the perfect fit to the family. That she would be the balance. Without hesitation, the same day that Sage was put up for adoption, she was given a new home, where she would be the light of the happy couple.
When they asked for information of the child all the worker could say was her name and then handed the two a letter that was left. Before giving the letter, she asked them if they were really going to adopt her before knowing her background, it was instructed this way.
They didn't even dare to hesitate. It was Sage. They knew it was her. They knew she would be their stars in the night sky, showing the light for them when all was dark. When they opened the letter it changed everything. It was written by her grandmother. It showed what gift this girl possessed, but it didn't tell them why and where it came from, but on top of that it explained why they had to leave her. They knew the risk it would be having her, but they didn't care because they knew she was the one. They decided to tell their daughter what she possessed when they felt it was right, but for now it would remain a secret for her purity and safety to stay. If she even knew what powers she had, it would be much easier for Voldemort to find her. As for her parents' story, they didn't know. They didn't want her to eventually feel the pain. The grief. They didn't want her to be traumatized. Poor girl was only one and had to endure such a big pain already, why would they want to give her more to drown herself in?
