~(Y/N) POV~

I wake up the next day to the familiar green light cast across my bedsheets. I've got Divination with Professor Trelawney at 7:30. So, I get ready for the day and meet my friends in the common room.

"There are only 20 minutes left of breakfast. Do you want to grab a coffee and head to class?" Draco stands up from one of the green armchairs.

"Yeah, sure." I smile.

We walk side by side to the Great Hall.

"Do we have Divination with Gryffindor or Hufflepuff? I forget." I ask as we approach the Slytherin table.

"Gryffindor. Most of our classes are with them this year." He sneers.

"Great." I sigh and grab a coffee off the table.

"Why do you two look so depressed?" Caroline chuckles.

"They always look depressed." Blaise rests his head on his hand.

Caroline and Blaise must've woken up early for breakfast too.

"Pipe down it's 7 in the morning." I rub my eyes. "And we don't have time to talk right now."

"We just came to get coffee and leave." Draco grabs a cup and pulls me away by my arm.

The second we enter the Divination classroom, Professor Trelawney guides us to a tiny table up front. She's a scrawny woman with huge glasses and frizzy hair.

"You're aura is radiating positive energy, my dear." Trelawney pats the top of my head.

"Thank you." I laugh awkwardly.

We're pretty early, so it gives me time to investigate her classroom.

Brightly colored tapestries cover the walls, and funky lanterns hang from the ceiling. On the right side of the classroom, there are rows and rows of teacups stacked on wooden shelves. Trelawney's desk is cluttered with crystal balls, tarot cards, and burning sticks of incense.

"Why does she have us sitting on velvet pillows?" Draco leans over the table to whisper.

"No idea." I observe the patterned table cloth draped over our table. "I kind of like it in here, though."

"It's cool." Draco agrees hesitantly.

The rest of the class files in and Trelawney points people to different seats. Teacups appear in front of Draco and I.

"Lucky we got placed together. It looks like she's putting a lot of thought into her assigned seats." Draco comments.

"I've never had assigned seats before." I say lowly. "But it seems like she's putting people with their friends. Look, Potter's sitting with Granger and Weasley."

"Maybe she really is psychic." Draco snickers.

"Welcome, my children. In this room, you shall explore the noble art of Divination. In this room, you shall discover if you possess the sight. Hello. I am Professor Trelawney. Together, we shall cast ourselves into the future. This term, we'll focus on Tasseomancy, the art of reading tea leaves. So please, take the cup of the person sitting opposite you." She starts the lesson. "What do you see?"

I take Draco's cup, and he takes mine. I examine it carefully.

"The truth lies buried like a sentence deep within a book, waiting to be read. But first, you must broaden your minds." Professor Trelawney walks up to our table and looks over my shoulder.

"I think I see a cross, a falcon, and... a heart." I turn it counterclockwise in my hand. "That means you're likely to go through trials and suffering, you have a dangerous enemy, and there's an abundance of love or romance in your future."
