Ashton P.O.V
"Relax jexson, go take a walk" I try comforting the new recruit. Its not everyday we get a bloody murder scene but damn, the poor fella.
"He'll be fine but this male went through hell" stacy said with her monotone voice, with her glove hand she pick up the evidence.
"Seems clinche isn't it" I pointed out kneeling beside her with rise brows and a twisted lips she spoke "a one night stand gone wrong, mass serial killer dress as a woman..psh yeah" she shrugged it off as usual the woman unemotional rollercoaster.
I steadly stood up walking over the window pane the bloody curtains marking it statement.
"Any witnesses" I murmured as I took the file in hand, processing every detail checking if anything was missing.
"Just the receptionist...nothing out of the normal... Drunk man on arms with a hot chick book a room, fairly common manner" she said boredly coming closer looking over the files.
I murmured a yeah not sure what to say in this situation. With the short years of experience I managed to climb to the top.
A endangerment I caught myself in if ever my family found out.
A breathy sigh leave pass my lips, exiting the building as the paramedics do there thing "I'll send the autopsy later" she said with a bored tone joining the paramedics. I watch as her hip sways as she walk off, shook my head before walking off. Get a grip man.
I never understood her being fairly new she bearly talks to anyone. I brush it off moving to my motorcycle, not technically wanting to stick around any longer.
When last had I relax? That was a rhetorical question one that I wish to dismiss. I sat my mind in the clouds as I skillfully spun around in the chair.
"Sir?" I felt a hand shaking me the annoyance I hate being touch. I angrily glare at the paling face, the face of knowing they mess up.
"Sorry yes" I spoke brushing off the weird feeling on my shoulder, awaiting his respond I took a sip from the cold cup of coffee on the desk. A big mistake as I try to spit it out.
"W..well.." I raise my eyebrow at him holding back a cough. The man was like a shaking leaf, something must of shake him terribly, I observe.
"Spit it out Mika" I said a little raising my voice his eyes snap immediately towards me.
"S..sir the Howells son case...their lawyer here to see you again..."
Shit not this crap again
"Tell him I'm out of office, I can't deal with this nonsense again" I said to him without hesitation he turn around and left without a second to lose.
What can I say they have been the regular to visit the police station, their trouble of a son can never be tame, I rather not put myself in that scene again.
A breath of sigh pass my lips
Twirling in my office chair as it always been a boring day at the office.
"Look alive Detective" I got startled out of my chair my reflex having me stand up in an instant. With my back facing the door I couldn't see. But the voice I pave in my mind
"Seg. Miller what do I owe the visit" I ask out of breath. It was the strong power he lead that held you by the throat without warning
"God dammit Ashton, the city is in chaos even the blind could see it" he shouted throwing a stack of paper on my desk, here he goes again.
"Do you see this shit... 5 bodies found near sewage drain and the mayor was apart of it" I look at what he pointed at showing clear as day the headlines. I ran my hands through my hair feeling a headache coming on.
"Damn..." I murmured under my breath. This won't end and I had that one nagging pulse in my head knowing fully well who.
"Detective we can't have our city living in fear, I want you under cover on this one"
"Wait wahh.." he said catching me completely off guard.
"You heard me" with that he bagan to turn around heading to the door, I was about to say something but pang in my head told me not to. With that intense look in his eyes he was beyond serious.
"By the way that case before with those missing girls, I believe its related" he spoke tossing a document he had in his hands, I could always trust his judgment he was the captain for his sharp gut feelings.
He must have took my silence as approval "it's nothing new but still I suggest you take a closer look detective" without another word he shuts the door behind him.
I took the document firmly in my hands, almost crush the file in my first. My breath became intense as the face I haven't seen for years came in view.
Eliza Bolton as ghostly as her became on my breath.
My mind race reaching for my computer I check the police records. My brother, why has he slip my mind.
My finger pause on the specific line, before I could control rage the computer was on the floor. Broken beyond repair, I didn't mind it my focus on that one line. how could this be under our nose and not noticing.
Jayvin you psychic bastard I mumbled under my breath
You escaped prison thinking no one would notice, I crush the file without thinking, tossing it back on the desk . Grabbing the jacket hanging on the frame, my anger directed to one person and one person only.
'I'm coming for you...'
'Brother'
the venom of that word left a bad taste on my tongue.
