Chapter 4

Clarke

I made my way to medical, hopefully Monty would be awake and better now. When we rescued him from the grounders, he was hurt pretty badly. They tortured him, I'm not sure why, I haven't had the chance to ask him since he's been unconscious ever since we found him.

"Hey Lia, is he okay?" I asked the pale brunette as I walked into the tent.

"Your timing is perfect. He just woke up." She replied, pointing to table on the far end where he lay.

"Hey buddy." I said quietly, standing over him.

"Clarke!" He sat upright quickly and started talking, "The grounders, the- they hurt me because I crossed their boundary. The river is a boundary - it's their territory. They're dangerous, Clarke. We need to make sure no one else gets hurt."

I nodded in agreement.

"Get some rest, Monty. I'm going to get Bellamy and let everyone else know." I said as I headed out the tent to find Bellamy.

I scanned the camp looking for him, until I spotted him. He had a group of admittedly gorgeous looking girls surrounding him, he seemed to be enjoying the company. Of course, I laughed to myself. I don't why it bothered me, it shouldn't. He is free to whatever he wants, our only relation is keeping our people safe. I clenched my jaw and walked somewhat tediously towards him.

"I need you for a second." I said, shooting a glare at the other girls which made clear that I wanted them gone. They rolled their eyes dramatically and scoffed as they cleared off somewhere else

"What's up, Princess?" he smirked slightly, I could sense a little annoyance for interrupting his fun.

"The grounders. Monty said they attacked him because he passed the river, it's their land. Bellamy, we need to make sure no one else goes past that river." I explained.

He nodded, "Alright. Let's warn everyone."

I watched as he gathered everyone around to inform them about Monty and the grounders, they weren't going anywhere near that river, not if Bellamy and I had anything to do with it.
