The Love That Wasn't Meant To Be; chapter 1: The First Kiss (Stein X Maka)

Stein:

"This is not right, they shouldn't be together, that's a love that wasn't meant to be..." everyone is saying that about us, about me, and about Maka.

THREE SCHOOL YEARS BEFORE

"Ok class, calm down!" I said to my class, back from summer break. They wouldn't stop. Right before I was going to shout at them someone whistled. Not one of those ordinary whistles the one you use your fingers with. I was looking around the classroom for the mystery whistler. "How do you do that MAKA?!?!" Soul Eater shouted. So it was Maka that whistled.

Well, she is my teacher pet. "I whistled because Professor Stein want our attention." she answered. Soul Eater and Black Star was yelling back. "WELL JUST BECAUSE HE WANTED OUR ATTENTION DOESN'T MEAN WE HAVE TO GIVE HIM OUR ATTENTION!"

"Oh boy," she and I sighed. I feel so bad that she has HIM as her partner. "Well he is the teacher and the adult in control in the room," she replied.

Both Black Star and Soul Eater started mumbling to themselves. They obviously lost the argument and they don't like it.

"Anyways, back to class....." I started class with a new subject OTHER than dissection. I know that that's odd of me but it's a new school year and Lord Death told me that I have to teach them not have fun with dissections. The school day might of gone by really slowly and almost everyone didn't have any fun but at least one student had fun.

Maka, my most prized student. She was taking notes on everything and smiling all the way through.

Right before class ended I needed to see someone after class. "Maka, may I see you after class. You're not in any kind of trouble I just need to talk to you."

"Oh ok then." she said that with a great big smile and a great attitude................that both annoyed me and made me feel warm inside.

The bell rang after a few minutes of the free time we had left of class. "So you wanted to talk to me, Professor Stein?" Maka said while confronting me. "Hmm oh yes that's right. I just wanted to say I'm glad you were paying attention and taking notes the whole time. You were the only one paying any attention AND even taking notes. You're my most prized student because of that." after I said all of that I was blushing and had a smile on my face.

She started to blush and at first had a surprised look on her face but then her surprised look turned into a smile. "thank you. I am trying my hardest to be the best in this class like in the past."

I've always thought her smile was beautiful but whenever I think that I always feel like Spirit is watching me and could read my thoughts..............

"Well....I...umm....." I was speechless now. I want Ed to tell the truth about how I feel about her but I couldn't find the words. "Yes, what is it, Professor Stein?" she asked. I didn't know how to tell her that I...I....love her..........

"It's nothing, never-mind," I replied.

"You sure. Cause you look like you need to say something," she said in a worried voice. She shouldn't be worried about me especially for what I've got to say. She'll freak out if I tell her.

"Professor Stein?" she seems even more worried now. "It's nothing you should worry about, Maka." I said to try to reassure her. But it didn't work I could tell. I went around my desk and sat on my desk in front of her.

"Please tell me what's the matter. I'm worried about you. You've been looking really stressed all day. Are you really ok?"

Now there's no way out of this. But I can't concentrate when she stares at me with those big beautiful emerald eyes. Damn it! Don't look into the eyes! Too late....

"Well I wanted to tell you that I...umm...I.....really........" I'm sweating to death and so nervous. And I can see that she sees it too.

"You don't have to be nervous around me. You know you can tell me anything." she told me with so much trust in her words.

I couldn't say anything so I grabbed her and made out with her. My tongue going into her mouth having a tango with her tongue. Our mouths are holding each others moving so fast. I can feel her shaking in fear? No not fear. No what is it. Her eyes were open until a little after I started kissing her. Well she didn't do anything until I stop kissing her. She opened her eyes slowly, looked me in the eyes, and said, "Is that what was bothering you?"

I replied "What do you mean?"
