You don't know why you followed him.

Maybe it's because he asked so nicely. Maybe it's because he has your phone.

Maybe because he's your hero.

Deku—or Midoriya, as he wants you to call him—seems different. Although, he could've been one of those heroes that seems so nice and awesome on TV but act like shit when you meet them.

Midoriya, though acting strange, is surprisingly not acting too shitty. Creepy, yes, but he hasn't hurt you. Or even touched you.

He took your knife, then mentioned your ankle, which he politely offered to help you with. Sure, his help was accompanied by a smirk and a wink, but you have nowhere else to go.

You can trust him. He's the Symbol of Peace.

Right?

"Right this way, my dear," Midoriya says, motioning to an abandoned convenience store. The lights are off and the sign above the door is cracked.

It looks super suspicious, and honestly, you're starting to get a little freaked out. You limp towards him, but stop.

"Wait," you say, putting a hand on your hips, "how do I know you're not going to murder me or something? Are you even the real Deku? He's supposed to be dead."

Midoriya sighs. "You really don't trust me? Fine then."

He pulls off his gloves and pushes up his sleeve. His arms are covered in scars.

The same ones shown on countless interviews. The same scars you saw on him in the hospital.

"I thought you were dead," you say in relief, convinced this is really him, "I thought . . . How are you not dead?" You question, and Midoriya cocks his head, grinning.

"The miracles of modern technology, my dear."

If only you knew that the rest of the world thought he was dead too. If only you knew that he wasn't supposed to ever leave that hospital. Then maybe you wouldn't have followed him into that old convenience store.

Maybe things would have been different. But here you are.

The lights immediately flick on when you enter, and the place smells like dust. Food litters the shelves; it all looks in good condition, except the building itself.

"Follow me," Midoriya says, offering you his hand. You take it and, despite your pride, you blush. He doesn't seem to notice, thankfully.

He leads you to the back of the store, and his hand holds yours gently. You smile in spite of yourself.

A trapdoor is opened on the floor, and you can see a ladder descend downward into the darkness. You shudder at the thought of trying to climb down it with your ankle like it is.

Midoriya must've noticed, because he turns around and gestures to his back. "Hop on," he grins, bending down so you can get a piggy-back-ride.

You want to refuse, but your childhood dreams are being fulfilled. A piggy-back-ride from your favorite hero? Getting to meet him was awesome alone, but this? Your fangirl brain is going crazy.

You hop on, trying to hide how ecstatic you feel.

"Hold on tight," Midoriya whispers, then starts to climb down the ladder.

Your arms are wrapped around his neck, and you clasp his waist with your thighs. You can feel the muscles in his back pulse as he climbs down.

Once he reaches the bottom of the ladder, he sets you down on a bed in the room. It's dimly lit with a kitchen, TV, and everything else you could need. Heck, it's better than your apartment.

As you look around, Midoriya searches through some cabinets before emerging with a triumphant 'aha' and bandages in his hand.

He saunters over to you, grinning, looking you up and down like his next meal.

You blush, feeling exposed despite the situation. Midoriya smiles at your blush; the same smile he gave the flustered interviewers before he was hospitalized.

He kneels down in front of you, examining your ankle.

He hums, lifting your pant leg and glancing at your flustered face. "Looks swollen. I think you sprained it."

You watch as he carefully wraps the area, as if he's done this so many times before. Again you feel that weird urge to know everything about the hero; what has he been through?

"There we go," he smiles, his voice full of cheer, "should be better in about a week or so."

You return his smile. "Thank you."

He stands up, and something crosses over his face, but it's gone in an instant. Something changes in his demeanor, though.

He pulls out your knife in a swift motion, pressing it to your neck.

"Now that you're all better," he coos, keeping the knife to you, hovering an inch away from your skin, "we can have a proper talk."

He leans away, using his other hand to pull out your phone from his pocket. He frowns, unlocking it and looking at the pictures. The pictures of him.

"Look what we have here," he sighs, "you're quite the troublemaker, aren't you?"

He glances at you, and then, before you can even move, green lightning curls around Midoriya's body, and he crushes your phone in his hand.

You watch as the shattered remains fall to the ground. Midoriya scans your face, showing no emotion on his.

Your heart drops. It's gone. The proof. The texts.

All gone.

Midoriya smiles, as if proud of what he's done. He then calmly walks over to you and ties you up, but you don't resist. You can't. He's the most powerful person alive.

"Go to hell."  You spit at him, pulling against your restraints.

He cocks his head. "What? And leave you here all alone?"

Midoriya grins, a smile stretching from ear to ear.

"Your wish is my command."

And then he leaves, shutting the trapdoor and shrouding you in darkness.
