I opened my eyes to find Kyojuro was asleep. I looked up and smiled at him. I reached up and entangled my hands in his red and yellow hair. It was so soft. I always wanted to play with his hair, especially his pony tail that he has. I smiled to myself as I kept playing with his hair. I think it caused him to wake up cause he stirred and opened his eyes. I pulled my hand from his hair which only made me yank a few strands out.

"Ow," he said and looked over at me. "Were you playing with my hair?"

"Yes," I said slowly.

He had a devilish smirk come across his face as he reached up and started to play with my hair.

"Kyojuro, no!"

"Yeah? How do you like it now? You don't like it when it's your turn now?" he chuckled.

I fell from the couch, only for him to fall on top of me. He caught himself, but he was a few inches from my face. I looked up and he smiled down at me. He moved a few strands away from my face and placed his hand on my cheek. I reached up and placed my hand on his left cheek.

"Y/N," he whispered.

"Kyojuro."

He leaned down towards me and I closed my eyes, pulling him towards me. The door opened up and I opened my eyes. My head and Kyojuro's turned towards the stairs to see a shadow was walking down. I shoved him away and sat up. He sat upwards and I grabbed his eye covering and made it look like I was giving it back to him.

"There you are. I was wondering why there was another set of shoes here. Hi, Kyojuro," my mother said.

"Hello, Mrs. L/N."

"I saw what happened. You did that?"

"Yes. That was a technique my great-great grandfather used to fight demons. It's called Flame Breathing."

"Sounds like what Y/N's great-great grandmother did. She used to fight demons."

"Really."

"Yeah. I think the two of them were friends back when they were alive."

"I am sure they were," he smiled.

"Oh, how is your eye?" my mother asked as he was holding the eye covering.

"It doesn't really hurt. It hurts every now and again, but everything is fine."

"Well I am just glad you're ok. When Y/N called me to tell me you were in the hospital again I got worried."

"I'm doing alright," he smiled.

"That's good to hear. You're welcome to stay for dinner, Kyojuro."

"I was just heading out anyway."

"Alright."

My mother walked away and back upstairs.

"Does your mother know about us?" he asked and placed the eye covering back over his eye.

"She knows we're really close. But I don't think she knows about it yet."

"Alright."

"I will tell her when I'm ready."

"Well, my dad knows about us already."

"Oh."

"I just wanted to let you know. In case he asks you anything like that or mentions it."

"Alright."

He stood up and held out his hand. He helped me up and he hugged me tightly.

"Thank you for letting me stay a while."

"It was no problem," I said and buried my face in his chest. "I just wish I could spend more time with you."

"Me too."

I pulled away but he stole a quick kiss. He smirked at me and I sighed, "You think you can be smooth, don't you?"

"I don't try to be," he chuckled.

"Come on," I said and led him upstairs.

We headed upstairs and he went over to the door to get his shoes on. I walked over and sat on the steps with him. I rested my head on his shoulder as he was finished tying his shoes. We walked over to the door and I walked out onto the porch with him.

"It was nice getting to see you, Kyojuro," I said and hugged him.

"It was," he said and hugged me back. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

Before I pulled away, he stole another quick kiss. He chuckled and I looked over at him.

"Again? You caught me off guard," I blushed and buried my face in his chest.

He laughed and hugged me tightly, "I just wanted to show you how much I missed you."

I sighed and hugged him back, "Have a safe walk home."

"I will."

He pulled away and quickly kissed his cheek.

"There you go. Now you're learning," he chuckled.

I smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

I waved to him and he waved back. I headed inside and sat at the counter to talk with my mother.

"Do you like him?" my mother asked.

"How did you?"

"Y/N, I'm your mother. I know things."

I was about to open my mouth but my mother said something.

"And I can see you from the window."

"What?!"

I turned around and saw she had a direct view of where we were standing.

"You don't need to hide it from me, Y/N. Besides, I like Kyojuro. What he did showed me he was willing to protect anyone that would harm the peace that we have in the world. He's a good young man."

I smiled, "I'm glad you think that."

"But the question is, do you like him? Do you like him with your whole heart?"

Just thinking about him made my heart skip a beat. I felt my face becoming a bit warmer than usual and I looked away from my mother, even though I know she can totally see my face right now.

"Yes. I do like him with my whole heart."

"Then that is all that matters. Is that you like him with your whole heart."

"I was worried about him when they started playing the footage at school."

"They did what?!"

"Yeah. They showed us the fight between Kyojuro and that mafia boss at school. He was pretty banged up when he was fighting the boss. That just meant they had people in the underground base fighting him. But, mom, do you see now? That great-great grandmother was one of demon slayers like how Kyojuro's great-great grandfather was?"

My mother nodded her head, "The question is: are you able to replicate what your great-great grandmother did?"

"What do you mean?"

"Come with me."
