Sorry if I mess up with the non-binary pronouns again, I keep forgetting, and it just slips out of my mind. Also, if you can't see, in the background of the above picture, Colleen is there.

[COLLEEN]
I just got a new job in the local café, which I'm pretty happy about, as I'm very good with people (or that's what many people say about me), and I love to cook, so that's a big plus! Because I'm a new worker, I get put with waitering tables until I get my next promotion, which shouldn't be too long from now.
Right now, I have some free time to spare, so I'll let you on a bit of a secret.
My friends and parents always told me that everyone has a destined soulmate, whether they're right in front of you or hundreds of miles away, you're bonded by the minute you are born. My mother told me that every pair of soulmates meet someday, even in old age! I feel very unlucky about it, though, since some of my friends had already found their soulmates. I didn't find mine yet, and I feel very annoyed about it, thinking that I have to probably wait another twenty years for me to come upon them.
This is making my head hurt.
In our world, your soulmate's name is written on your wrist or ankles when you talk and bond together. Your wrist/ankle would tingle for a bit, and when you look at it, there, scribbled in a beautiful font, would be your soulmate's name.
"Colleen!" my boss calls.
"Coming!" I yell back, putting on the uniform and going to the front of the café. There were quite a few people coming in, and I greeted them all.
"Hi, welcome!"
"Come on in, please!"
"Welcome, hope you're having a great day today!"
Sounds a bit cheesy, but it gives me an extra tip to go through with.
I smile at all the people entering the café, then a ginger-haired catches my eye. They had bright orange hair tied in a ponytail, light dotted freckles that covered the bridge of their nose, and a cheery smile that made me want to smile.
I felt a light fluttering in my stomach as I walked to the table. I folded my hands together and put up a smile.
"Is there anything we can get you?" I ask to the people sitting around the table. They nodded, and the ginger-haired spoke for them.
(gonna skip this part)
"Okay, will that be all?" I ask, jotting down the orders in my notebook. The ginger smiled with a "yes."
I walked back to the kitchen, heart beating fast. Why do I feel like I just ran a marathon? I touched my face, hot to the touch, and my hands felt sweaty. I place the order sheet on the clipboard in the kitchen (to let the chefs know what they need to prepare), then sat down on a stool quietly, fiddling with my hands for a few minutes.
At that moment, my arm started to tingle a bit, like a feather brushing across my skin. I roll up my sleeves (of the uniform), and there, written in sparkling amber letters was the name 'Quinn.'
I don't even know anybody named Quinn! Why is it even showing up now out of all times?
The bell for the order rang, and I rushed back out to serve it. The people sitting at the table looked happy, and the ginger-haired smiled at me, making my face a light shade of red. Red was my favorite color, but I hated feeling embarrassed in public!
"May I have your name?" the orange-haired asked me, interrupting my thoughts.
"Uh, my name is Colleen," I spoke shyly, trying to hide myself behind my clipboard. The ginger laughed, which sounded like bells in my ears.
"Well, I guess you should know my name at this point, then," they say, which I was confused by. I don't even know their name!
Then, the ginger unrolled their sleeve, and there, written in crimson, was my name, 'Colleen.' I gasp and back away slightly. Nobody else noticed our conversation, and were all talking among each other.
"Y-you're Quinn?" I ask, and they nodded with a smile.
"Yes I am!" they laughed softly, then whisper, "you want to meet again tonight?"
I nod quickly, this would be the perfect opportunity to bond with them more! I smile shyly, to which they gently pushed back my brown hair behind my ear. "You're really cute when you smile," Quinn whispers, to which I blush again.
Well, this was going to be fun!
