《CHAPTER FOUR》

Jackie was in Eli's house eating breakfast. "Thanks for the toast Ms. Moskowitz" she smiled. The girl was still iffy about what happened at the dance on Friday. When she got home she got drunk, Saturday she had a huge hangover and still felt really guilty, on Sunday she had a self-care day. Jacklyn didn't pick up her phone unless it was for her family. Not even Eli, or Demetri, or Miguel but he probably wasn't on his due to relaxing or whatever.

Eli's mom checked the time "Eli honey, eat now so you guys don't be late" which led to Eli running down the stairs. He didn't want to go and see Jacklyn because he thought she was mad at him. He grabbed a piece of toast and headed towards Jackie. Jackie went to the garage and hopped in Eli's car. "Are you mad at me" he spoke. Jacklyn laughed "no stupid, I just needed alone time". He started at her "I came over at 4 pm and you didn't answer the door".

"Was it on Saturday" the girl asked

Eli responded "yeah"

"I was hungover" Eli began laughing and pulled out of the garage and headed to school

The group of four were sat at a table in the library. It was their free period and Miguel didn't want to see Kyler so they tried to get a hidden spot. "So that's it? No more karate" Demetri said. Miguel was obviously still sad about it "I guess so".

Demetri nodded his head "it's probably for the best. It was starting to boost your confidence." Miguel was a bit mad now "isn't that a good thing" he asked. Demetri spoke "no". Jacklyn kicked him under the table which made Demetri kick her back. "what has confidence ever gotten anybody but a black eye and their backpack thrown in the trash" Demetri said. Eli looked up "well I think it was kinda cool how you stood up to Kyler" Jackie smiled at him. "Are you insane? Let me ask you. What is the best superpower anyone could have" Demetri questioned the group "super strength" Miguel said. The only girl sat up "Wanda's powers" Demetri rolled his eyes "wrong. Invisibility" there was a pause. "A distant second would be super speed to run away fast" Demetri said.

"Runaway from who" Kyler spoke as he put his hand on Eli, this startled the group. "Whom. It's the object of preposition. Remember English class" Brucks said which made Jacklyn laugh. "Finally something you can retain from school". Miguel got up "we were just leaving" and gestured everyone else gets up too.

Kyler grabbed Eli's neck and spun him around "hey where you going? Oh, look at this freak" Eli didn't move. "What kinda girl would ever kiss this shit" Kyler spoke as Brucks laughed. Jacklyn raised her hand. "I have, like a million times. Oh, and didn't they say that Asian boys have tiny dicks" she began laughing. Kyler began laughing "maybe you can find out if it's tiny or not"

Miguel was truly having a bad day at this point " leave them alone Kyler". The Asian boy pushed away Eli, "what'd you say? You haven't had enough Reah" using a little nickname for Miguel. "Huh. Yeah get the hell outta here man" Miguel and Eli speed-walked out while Jackie and Demetri were slow. Kyler grabbed Demetri's backpack, "hey you don't want this shit" he smirked. "No, come on. Not the trash. I just threw a-" Kyler threw the boys backpack in the trash. "- yogurt in there" Demetri finished. Kyler and Brucks walked away laughing.

"It's ok D, I'll help you clean it" Jackie smiled at him as they walked out.

Jacklyn was now in the back of Demeri's car trying to write in her diary, Demetri wasn't a good driver. "You always write in that notebook. You ever gonna tell us what your writing" he spoke. "Eyes on the rode Demetri" Eli said. Jackie responded to the question, "maybe one day. At my funeral you guys can read it" she smirked.

"Haha, very funny. Also what the fuck was that in the library 'i have, like a million times'" Demetri asked in a high-pitched voice as Jackie laughed. "Oh, I was just standing up for Eli. You know what friends do" emphasizing friends. Eli nodded to confirm her statement.

For some reason, Demetri was still off about the topic "so you guys aren't like a thing right. Because if you are and you're not telling me then that is pretty shitty". Jacklyn and Eli looked at each other and fake laughed. "Us? Date. Demetri she's not my type. Never will be" Eli said with such confidence that the girl almost believed it. Almost.

We're in the library and Demetri is eating some nasty ass yogurt. Like it just looks so bad but whatever
Miguel has been pissed the fuck off the whole time today. I under he got beat up but that doesn't mean we have to endure it.

Dude Demetri just asked if me and Eli are a thing. Eli made up a lie and it low-key hurt because he was all like "oh she's not my type yady yady ya" BOI you could've said anything else because we damn know that is a lie. I bet even Miguel and his grumpy ass has caught on. Ok, now I feel bad. I'm literally hating on Miguel but cleaning Demetri's backpack has not put me in a good mood. Also Demetri's weird obsession with Yasmine???? Weird as hell
